Please note that you can propose the unit operation used by adding (unit operation proposed). You are encouraged to study the recyclability of
each catalyst for the similar process reaction. Please attach the URL link that you obtain the info especially for separation equipment. (TQ.)

Take note: Please do this according to the process description in the feasibility report. As some chemicals involved in one reaction e.g. prins
reaction, desired product is isoprenol but mixture of isoprenol and prenol will be transferred to the next unit operation after separation from
catalyst (if there is any) and other undesired side products. Therefore, there is no need separation of isoprenol from prenol.
Advantages Disadvantages
Activated sludge  Low installation cost  High capital and operational cost
 Good quality effluent  Not very flexible
 (up to 99% reduction of BOD and pathogen)  High energy consumption
 Can be modified to meet specific discharge
limit
Trickling filter  Simple process control  Moderate effluent BOD/TSS typically achieved
 Resistance to shock loads  High capital cost
 Energy requirement low  Low operational flexibility
 Low sludge production  Moderate odor and nuisance potential
 Sludge thickens and dewaters easily  Poor nitrogen removal typical
 Biological phosphorus removal difficult
