DISSEMINATION OF THE UNESCO YOUTH GREENING CURRICULA
SURVEY
1. Attached herewith is the Regional Memorandum NCR No. 471 s. 2022 issued
August 3, 2022, by Mr. Wilfredo E. Cabral, Regional Director, DepEd National
Capital Region Office, Misamis St. Bago Bantay, Quezon City, entitled
“Dissemination of the UNESCO Youth Greening Curricula Survey”, contents of which
are self-explanatory, for guidance and information of all concerned.
2. Special attention is particularly invited to Part 1 on request to encourage
young people (12 to 25years old) to participate and answer the survey link
hitps://tinyurl.com/Unesco¥GCS until August 8, 2022, only.
3. Immediate and wide dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.

for Administration, the Schools Divisions are hereby requested to encourage young people
(12 to 25 years old) to participate and answer the UNESCO Youth Greening Curricula Survey
through this link https://tinyurl .com/UnescoYGCS until August 8, 2022 only.
2 To ensure all leamers acquire knowledge. skils, values and attitudes to tackle
climate change, UNESCO through the Education for Sustainable Development plans to co-
develop some guidelines with the youth and leamers to support policymakers integrate
climate education into education policies and curricula. These guidelines shall reflect the
needs and demands of youth on climate change education.

DISSEMINATION OF THE UNESCO YOUTH GREENING CURRICULA.
SURVEY
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is
leading the global efforts together with its partners and stakeholders to promote
transformative education to tackle the planetary crisis, through the new global framework
for the period 2020-2030, entitled “Education for Sustainable Development: Towards
Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,” with its main goal of ensuring alll learners
acquire knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes to tackle climate change.
With the objective to ensure climate action is integrated into the curriculum globally,
UNESCO is developing green curriculum guidelines to help integrate climate education in
schools. These guidelines are to be co-developed with young people from 12 to 25 years
old. Said guidelines shall reflect the needs and demands of youth on climate change
education. The target outcome is to know about the content on what the youth need to
learn, their experiences, and their environment within the school, as well as the
collaboration between their schools and the community on climate change education.
In this regard, the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (QUA), through
the Bureau of Learner Support Services-Youth Formation Division (BLSS-YFD), hereby
requests the assistance of the Regions and Divisions through the Youth Formation
Coordinators to encourage young people (12 to 25 years old) to participate and answer the
survey through this link https: /tinyusl,com UnescoYGCS. Please note that the said
survey will be until August 8, 2022, only.
