Chapter 4

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the summary and conclusion derived in the conduct of

the study which is to prove on the effect of an EV3 LEGO Mind Storm as a

Security Alarm. It also provides recommendations that can be pursued by the

researchers.

A. Summary of Findings

The findings of the study were summarized according to the statement of

the problems stated in Chapter 1.

1. How effective does the security alarm is?

Based upon our study the EV3 LEGO Mind Storm undergoes 8

successful experiments and proven effective and can be used as a

security alarm. Our data shows that the EV3 Lego Mind Storm as an

security alarm is 80% effective.

2. Is there any significant difference between a house with a security

alarm and a house without a security alarm?

Based on the data that was gathered by the researchers from the

conducted experiment, there is was a 80% significant difference between

a house with a security alarm and a house without a security alarm.

3. How long does the security alarm can be used in a day?

The data that was presented by the researchers shows or prove

that the alarm can only be used up to 9-10 hours for every 12 hours.

B. Conclusion

This study aims to make an security alarm that can lessen the number of

burglary cases in the Philippines. A security alarm is a system designed to

detect intrusion, such as unauthorized entry, into a building or other areas such

as a home or school. With this security alarm, cases of burglary will be lessen

and valuable things will be safe. The most important benefit of all is the

sense of security and comfort that an alarm system provides . In addition to

being safe, the assurance that you are safe will enable you to be more

productive, healthy, and focused that makes room for peace of mind. The

result of this study can help to minimize the crimes such as burglary and

murder. It will help protect irreplaceable things and protect the house from

any crime. Through this research, the community will further realize promoting

The Use of EV3 Lego Mind Storm for security purposes because of its

advantages than using other devices.

Based on the data gathered by the researchers, the alarm is effective

and there is a 80% significant difference between a house with security alarm

and a house without a security alarm. The data that was gathered by the

researcher presented that 8 out of 10 experimentation is successful and

effective. In addition, the experiment also shows that the alarm can only be

used up to 9-10 hours for every 12 hours and can only detect up to 1-80 cm.

The researcher came up with the conclusion that The Use of EV3 Lego Mind

Storm as an security alarm is effective and can keep our family members, and

irreplaceable or expensive item safe and secured.

D. Recommendations

Since the effectiveness of alarm system has been proven. Community

should implement the use of this device to ensure the safety of everyone. If

they can't implement the device in every household at least they can install

some security alarm in public places like school, bank and mall.

Implementation of the device in every household can maintain the

safety of everyone especially when the homeowner is asleep or the house is

left unoccupied. For future researchers this research can serve as references and

they can use this study on larger groups of subjects to determine if the same

findings will be established. The researchers recommend, that future researchers

should conduct more experiments and use more alarm and subjects for

experimentation, that the current researchers where unable to perform due to

pandemic and lack of materials to improve and strengthen the study
