I. TITLE
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIO-ECONOMICS STATUS AND LEARNING
ACHIEVEMENT OF GRADE FIVE LEARNERS.

II. General Statement of the Problem


This correlational study aims to find out the Relationship between socio-economics

status and learning achievement of grade five learners of San Matias Elementary

School for the SY 2022-2023.

III. Specific Problem


1. What is the relationship between socio-economic status and learning achievement?

2. What is the learning achievement of the respondents as a gathering classified as to parent


level of education, Occupation and Annual Household income?

3. Is there any significant relationship between socio-economic status and learning


achievement?

IV. Statement of Hypothesis


Based on the aforementioned statements the following null hypothesis is being advanced:
1. There is no significant relationship between socio-economics status and learning
achievement.
2. There is no significant differences in the measure of socio-economic status between the
respondents as a classified to parent level of education, occupation and Annual
Household income.
3. There is no significant relationship between low socio-economic status of parents
academics of their children.

VI. Instrument

Instruments for data collection were questionnaire and a documented result of the

students. The questionnaire was designated on the four point like type scale

measurement of: Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Disagree (D), and Strongly Disagree

(SD). Meanwhile the documented results were correlated with the student’s response in

the questionnaire.

VII. Research Design

This study used a correlational design to address the problem under study. In
other words, it intended examine the relationship between socio-economic status
and learning achievement.

VIII. Locale of the Study

San Matias Elementary School, will be the target area for this study to be
conducted during the SY 2022-2023.

IX. Respondents/Subjects of the Study


The respondents of the study will be the entire grade 5 learners.
The purposive sampling method will be employed in the selection of the
respondents.
The participants will be classified according to parent level of education,
Occupation and Annual income.

X. Sampling Techniques
The respondents will be taken as a whole through Multistage sampling technique.

XI. Data Analysis


In order to answer the research problem, the obtained data were put into the
statistical software SPSS. First, a number of Descriptive Statistics were made on the
data.
