Natural Synbiotics Management

(New and Improved 500 ml)
“Intensive-Super Intensive Culture with High Aeration”
(©5 January 2014 / Updated version June 2021)

CONDITIONS:
Pond Size : 1,000 sqm
Stocking density : 50-200++ pcs per sqm
Salinity : 3-40 ppt
Culture species : Shrimp

AGED POND:
Ø Clean and flush out the sludge as thoroughly as possible.
Ø Analyzes the pH of your pond bottom soil (min. of 20-30 cm depth) in soak wet soil.
Ø Check the soil pH (Lower soil pH is an indicator of high organic waste accumulated)
Ø Analyzes the soil for nitrogen (i.e. Ammonium, Nitrite and Nitrate) accumulated.

FIRST STEP (Day 1-5) | REJUVENATES AN OLD AGED POND PROBLEMS:

Ø DO NOT apply any DISINFECTANT or treat the pond with any TOXIC chemical.
Ø Pump the water into pond through 100-200 mesh bag filtration.
Ø Fill up the pond water with maximum 1 meter (Lower depth provide better result)
Ø Apply 10 kg (10 ppm or 10 g/cum3) of Tea Seed Cake to eliminate the fish (If any
- Soil pH is between 6.1-7.0 : Apply ½ bottle (250 ml) of Bactipost Plus (Red Cap).
- Soil pH is between 5.1-6.0 : Apply 1 bottle (500 ml) of Bactipost Plus (Red Cap).
- Soil pH is between 4.1-5.0 : Apply 1 ½ bottle (750 ml) of Bactipost Plus (Red Cap).
- Soil pH is lower than 3.0-4.0 : Consult your local Aquamimicry’s representative.
Ø Apply 100 kg (10 ppm or 10 g/cum3) of tea seed cake to eliminate the fish (If any).

Calculates the need of Bactipost Plus (Red Cap) and apply at one single dose along with
ploughing or chain dragging. Continues chain dragging throughout the pond for at least once a
day for 5-7 consecutive days. This would neutralize the pH of soil at the bottom, reducing
nitrogen and thus stimulate a large bloom of natural zooplankton and invertebrates. Chain’s
weight should be at least 30 kg.
OPTIONAL: Blooms natural zooplankton (water depth of 1 meter).
Creates natural feed with Aquamimicry synbiotics.
Ø Set up the facilities to start fermentation process (NON-AERATE FOR MIN. 48 HOURS).
Ø 400-500 liter of pond water is required.
Ø 100 kg (100 ppm or 100 g/cum3) of *GROUNDED (rice bran/wheat bran).
Ø 20 kg of NaHCO3 (20% of sodium bicarbonate).
Ø 1 bottle 500 ml (600 grams) of Bactipost Plus (Red Cap).
Ø Ferment for at least 48 hours (stir well occasionally).
Ø Make sure the tank is large enough (at least 3 times the solution to be ferment).
Ø Filter and broadcast throughout the pond while aerations on.
Ø Filtered rice/wheat bran can be reprocess in the fermentation tank till dissolved.
Ø Stocking the new cycle after 3-5 days of initially dosage of synbiotics.
* Chain dragging throughout the pond on daily basis (At least 2-4 hours per day) will greatly
reduce the biofilm development. *GROUNDED rice bran is fine powder (not crumble).
1
READY FOR STOCKING:
Ø Selects good healthy of at least pL 10 and above for stocking.
Ø Stress test (pH and Salinity) for 30 minutes from salt water to fresh water and 30 minutes
from fresh water to seawater for another 30 minutes.
Ø Acclimatizes the temperature, pH and salinity properly (at least for 30 minutes).

SECOND STEP| AFTER STOCKING for 14 days (natural live feed):

Ø Continue synbiotics daily at 10 ppm (NON-AERATE FOR 48 HOURS).
Ø 10 kg (10 ppm or 10 g per 1 cum3) of *GROUNDED (rice bran/wheat bran).
Ø 40-50 liter of pond water.
Ø 2 kg of NaHCO3 (20% sodium bicarbonate)
Ø 80 ml of Bactipost Plus (Red Cap) or 8 ml per kg of substrate.
Ø Ferment for at least 24 hours (stir well occasionally).
Ø Make sure the tank is large enough (at least 3 times the solution to be ferment).
Ø Apply until the turbidity reaches 25-40 cm. Preferably at 25-30 cm.
Ø Check for the density of zooplankton, invertebrates and biocolloids development.
-Rotifers, copepods, zooplankton should be abundant.
Ø Continues aerate the pond and maintain morning DO >5 ppm prior to stocking.
pH should be within the range of 7.4 to 8.0.
* Chain dragging throughout the pond will greatly reduce the biofilm development.
* GROUNDED rice/wheat bran is ultra fine powder (not crumble).

MAINTAIN THROUGHOUT THE CYCLE:

Ø Maintains synbiotics daily between 1-10 ppm (calculate base on pond capacity) depends on
the pond turbidity. Preferably at 20-30 cm. If the turbidity is higher than 10-20 cm, reduces
the amount of Synbiotics. If the turbidity is lower than 30-40 cm, increase the amount of
synbiotics.
Ø Turbidity (biocolloids) should not be less than 30 cm throughout the cycle.
Ø Daily check for sludge volume index in 30 minutes (SV60) for every morning and afternoon.
Ø Make sure the pH are not flucutate more than 0.2 log with max of 0.3 log throughout day
and night. Most preferably at 0.0-0.1 log.
Ø Dissolves oxygen (D.O) should be maintain at least 4.5 ppm during late night and should
not exceed 10 ppm during the day time. Between 5-8 ppm is most preferably.
Ø Apply Bactipost (Green Cap) 50-100 ml weekly, reduces the built up of dissolved solid
(SV60 <1.0 ml perferably) in water. Apply during night time with full aeration.
Ø If observed any depletion in DO, immediately stop adding synbiotics. Reduces feeding and
provide full aeration and apply Bactipost (Green Cap) at 50-100 ml in the morning and
another 50 ml during night time.
Ø Apply Progest (Yellow Cap) at 50-100 ml weekly, will help reduce the sludge built up.
* Chain dragging (slowly) around the feeding zone for the first 15 days after stocking is still
preferably (20% of total area/day). Avoid chain dragging around the center of the pond at
all time.

2
SET UP : Preparation of synbiotics for biocolloids development and balances
pond pH during the cycle. Base on “DRY WEIGHT”
Ø Set up the facilities to start fermentation process (NON-AERATE FOR 24-48 HOURS).
Ø Select husk-free rice/wheat bran and GROUND THEM INTO FINE POWDER prior to
fermentation for at least 24-48 hours.
Ø Mixing 5:1 ratio (5 lt of water + 1 kg) of *GROUNDED (rice/wheat bran).
Ø Add 20% of NaHCO3 (sodium bicarbonate) for pH buffering base on material used.
Ø Dissolves 8 ml of Bactipost Plus (Red Cap) with 3 liter of water, suitable for 1 kg
of rice/wheat bran. Higher dosage rate of Bactipost Plus (Red Cap) provides faster result.
Ø Make sure the tank is large enough (at least 3 times the solution to be ferment).
Ø Make sure to maintain the pH of synbiotics at nearest to 5.5-7.0 at all time.
Ø No aeration is required for this process, but need to mix thoroughly by manually.
Ø *GROUNDED (rice/wheat bran), to be used for making synbiotics or otherwise
apply 20 mesh bag filter to remove large particles out of the pond.
Ø Precipitation of large particles of broken rice and bran can cause the black bottom and
biofilm formation.
Ø Never use any mold, sour or alcohol smelled synbiotics.

Trouble Shooting Guide

pH balanced during culture:
Ø Apply synbiotics daily at 3 ppm until pH balanced.
Ø 3 kg (3 ppm or 3 g/cum3) of *GROUNDED (rice bran/wheat bran).
Ø 12-15 liter of pond water.
Ø 0.6 kg of NaHCO3 (20% of sodium bicarbonate)
Ø 24 ml of Bactipost Plus (Red Cap) or 8 ml per kg of substrate.
Ø Ferment for at least 24 hours (stir well occasionally).

Reduces Greenwater (afternoon high pH and DO) during culture:

Ø Apply synbiotics daily at 5 ppm until afternoon pH reduced.
Ø 5 kg (5 ppm or 5 g/cum3) of *GROUNDED (rice bran/wheat bran).
Ø 20-25 liter of pond water.
Ø 1 kg of NaHCO3 (20% of sodium bicarbonate)
Ø 40 ml of Bactipost Plus (Red Cap) or 8 ml per kg of substrate.
Ø Ferment for at least 24 hours (stir well occasionally).

PRECAUTIONS:
Ø If found afternoon D.O. is above 10 ppm, is an indicator of phytoplankton bloom.
Ø If pH fluctuates during day and night, is an indicator of phytoplankton bloom. More synbiotics
is required.
Ø Pond water should be kept below 1 meter depth during the first 45 days and maximum
1.5 meter thereafter for better D.O. and temperature exchanges.
Ø Corner edge and dyke of the pond should always be free of black biofilm and string algae at
all time.
