On the occasion of your 6th Research Colloquium,
let me fervently congratulate the College of Health Scienc-

Global Leadership. Interestingly, with the onslaught of
Covid-19 we were compelled to grip on to our senses, ru-
minating that paramount to all treasures in the world is
one's good health. Medical and healthcare providers, par-
ticularly our beloved Nurses, are the true unsung heroes -
as cometh the hour, cometh the Nurse.
In fact, there were innumerable casualties among Nurses, surrendering their last
breath so only patients would survive. Hence, to prepare against the rampage of yet oth-
er infectious diseases, I commend the CHS for initiating the Colloquium. The academe is
indeed a playground to simulate the crucial roles and duties of Nurses. Thus, despite
the long hours and seemingly unlucrative profession, it is never a wonder, the high
quality of Nurses that CHS produces is a sought-after asset wherever in the world. As a
non-medical practitioner, the least I can extend is moral support and cheers to you all -
our heroes in white capes.

INTRODUCTION
The core of nursing will always be caring – the selfless care for the well-being and
welfare of others above even oneself.
Nursing is also multi-faceted, and thus is continuously evolving and adapting to
changing needs and demands. Nursing research has for its ultimate goal the attainment of
quality of life. Nursing students are the catalysts to improving knowledge and the quality
of nursing education through their involvement in research and practice of involved glob-
al leadership. As future frontliners, nursing students must always pursue continuous self-
improvement through the acquisition of knowledge.
Every year, the College of Health Sciences - Nursing Research Colloquium (CNRC)
becomes a venue for researchers, educators and students to share their research outputs
with the aim of improving health care outcomes and well-being. This year, the Mindanao
State University - College of Health Sciences proudly presents the 6th CHS Nursing Re-
search Colloquium 2022 with the theme: “Nursing Students as Catalysts for Improving
Knowledge and Nursing Education through Research and Global Leadership”.
From emerging technologies to cultural nuances, taking into account de-
mographics and healthcare environment, as well as adapting to calamities and facing the
global pandemic, the nursing student’s ability to adapt and provide the best care possible
is hinged on their proficiency of nursing care competencies, which is honed through in-
depth research. As we heed the clarion call for new and responsive research, it is hoped
that this 6th Nursing Research Colloquium 2022 will open great possibilities, particularly
by introducing promising health care innovations which will generate clinically relevant
knowledge and provide evidence-based solutions to the challenges and demands of the
local and global health landscape.

Office have a long-term experience as a nurse and have attended various trainings and
seminars on vaccination, which qualifies them to be nurse vaccinators. Moreover, results
showed that the respondents are fully aware of the different determinants of safe vaccine
administration. These determinants are the following: vaccine, potency, temperature,
storage, sustainability of electric power, vaccine transport, dosage, preparations, and
