Leaf ReplaceCTB ML 643 A
Leaf ReplaceCTB ML 643 A
If you need to replace a Millennium MLC Leaf due to mechanical damage; it is highly recommended
that Varian Service be contacted to perform the ordering of the replacement leaf and its installation.
All Millennium MLC leaves are hand fitted into their individual positions within the carriage during the
manufacturing process. Because of this Logistics will need to know the PCSN (Product Code Serial
Number) of the MMLC, the Carriage serial number, the Leaf number (i.e.: 541325, A25) and the
correct part number. The carriage serial number can be found on the side of the carriage almost right
behind the carriage drive motor. This information will be forwarded to the manufacturer to provide
Varian with three replacement leaves. The three leaves provided will be a leaf of exact replacement
size along with an undersized and an oversized leaf.
It is the responsibility of the Varian Service Engineer to properly fit the replacement leaf. Proper fit is
accomplished by both appropriate PWM values and free movement of the leaf within the carriage
block without the motor drive system attached to the leaf.
It is the responsibility of the sites’ Physics staff to assure the proper interleaf leakage values are within
specifications.
The two unused, new leaves and the damages leaf MUST be returned to Varian Logistics for proper
disposal and return credit.
