The Gospel of Luke is very important to understand because there are things added on to that’s not in

Mark or Matthew and it is shown because, Luke is known for the use of woman and how woman was a

big role in Jesus life such as the sisters of Lazarus, the woman that weep for Jesus when Jesus was

carrying his cross to the to be killed and when Jesus rose, it was mentioned how Mary Madaglen and

other woman discover him out the tomb, not just Peter. Another reason is that he took out parts of

stories of Jesus that he thought was not necessary and added details in such as when in Matthew when

Jesus was getting arrested, a disciple was so upset about it and scared, he ran off naked while in look, it

was told that a disciple had gotten a sword and slashed a soldier’s ear off because they was arresting

Jesus and Jesus picked up the ear and put it back on his head. Last reason is that when Luke was writing

his portion of the NT, he made sure that he made every negative event in the stories of Jesus more

positive because in Mark and Matthew, they told the stories in a negative such as when Jesus was dying

on the cross, in Matthew Jesus was crying out to God and asking him why is he letting this happen and

making it the situation of the story more a darker scene then it already is but in Luke, he made a dark

and gruesome scene have a positive part to it by having Jesus ask God to forgive them for killing him and

usually if someone was being killed, they wouldn’t ask the people doing the action forgiveness.
