• Select the PV panel:

- Use Homer to select/add solar panels. Provide the specifications of the selected solar panel.
- Find the capital cost of 1kW PV installation for the selected panel.
- Calculate the PV capacity with DC electrical bus.
- Assuming there is no tracking system, calculate the panel slope required.

• Select the storage (battery):

- Use Homer to select/add solar batteries. Provide the specifications of the selected battery.
- Find the capital cost of the battery.

- Size the PV and the battery assuming the longest night in the winter.

2. Homer simulation software


• Use Homer simulation software to find a technical feasible solution considering the conditions
for the system in part 1. Show all the steps including screen shots.

3. Study the most feasible solution when considering different sensitivity variables pertaining to the
solar panel slope and azimuth values that are given below. What would be the most optimal
