Minutes

Daily Warm Up 5 mins. (K, 2nd)


● Fluency 10 mins. (1st)
○ K-1st Fluency (5 mins)
○ 2nd- 5th Reflex Math Fluency (15 mins)*
● Number Talks (5 mins)

New Learning: 10mins


● Learning Target
○ Posted within the classroom
● Explicitly Teach (I do)
○ New Learning- Explicitly teach the new skill by modeling- student watch (I do)
○ Teacher teaches, no video are used to teach

Guided Practice 10 mins


● Together do a few problems (We do)
○ Check on student understanding, ask questions, address misconceptions

Independent Practice 10 mins (K, 2nd)


● Students independently work on practice problems (they do) 15 mis (1st)
○ Teacher walks around checking on all students and their progress, assisting and
reteaching. By the end of independent practice time the teacher should have
checked-in with all students.

Exit Tickets 5 mins.


● Quick check of the day’s learning to inform instruction for tomorrow and identify small group
needs

Small Group: 30 mins


● 2 Teacher-led 15 minute rotations working on standards
○ Personalized Learning: Students working on math platforms (Zearn, Study Island, Khan) on work
assigned by teachers based on MAP Assessment or independent practice.
