E495 / E497 Paging consoles for audio IP systems

Product specifications

E495 and E497 are desktop microphone

consoles for paging applications over IP
networks with 12 or 24 configurable keys
respectively.

Matches perfectly with the EQUITEL ENA

receivers family (E411, E413, E415 and
E417), and with the E351 transceiver and
other devices able to decode RTP audio.

Can generate up to 100 audio streams

simultaneously. Each stream can be sent
to a unicast or multicast destination.

Two working modes can be configured:

“Fixed zoning” or “Selectable zoning”.

The female XLR connector allows the use

of standard goose-neck microphones and
its easy replacement in case of damage. Up to 100 simultaneous unicast or
multicast audio streams
When several E497 or E495 units (up to
10) are used in a system, they
interoperate to inform about the SD card for message, chimes and
destinations in use by others and disable audio storage
sending audio to them to avoid conflicts.

User configurable start and end chimes.

Customizable keycap colours upon available
request.

Very easy configuration via web server. Up to 10 units can be used in a

system. Each unit shows and
disables the busy targets to avoid
conflicts

Application
The image shows a typical IP
paging application using the E497
and/or E495 consoles and some
ENA series decoders ( E411 ,
E413, E415 or E417).
The main function of the E497 or
E495 consoles is to send vocal
messages to the “Emergency” or
“Advertisement” layers of the
decoders(*).
The vocal messages can be
generated live, from the
microphone, or from files stored in
the SD memory card.
The selection of the destinations
(zones) to send the audio is very
easy and flexible.
If more than one console is used,
the intercommunication between
them allow to avoid usage
conflicts. The destinations that are
in use by one console are disabled
temporally in the others.

Audio formats Easy configuration
Ÿ The E497 sends audio to the network using the RTP Configuration is done through the embedded web
standard and one of the four following uncompressed server specially designed for an intuitive use.
audio formats:
Ÿ G711-A: Sampling at 8 kHz and 12 bits per sample,
coded in 8 bits. This is the most common audio format
used in VoIP systems. It yields a good voice quality
with small bandwidth consumption. Is compatible with
the ENA decoders and the E351 transceiver.
Ÿ PCM11025: Sampling at 11.025 kHz and 16 bits per
sample. Better audio quality than G711-A.
Compatible with the ENA audio decoders.
Ÿ PCM22050: Sampling at 22.050 kHz and 16 bits per
sample. Compatible with the ENA audio decoders.
Ÿ PCM32000: Sampling at 32KHz and 16 bits per
sample. Very high sound quality. Compatible with the
E351 audio transceiver.
The uncompressed audio formats allows to have low
latency values.

Destinations Working modes

A destination is an IP address and Ÿ Fixed zoning: Each key has a destination or group of destinations
port combination where an RTP (zone) and an audio source assigned at configuration time. When the
audio stream is sent. key is pressed, the audio from the microphone or file is sent to the
configured destinations. Only one key can be used at a time.
Up to 100 different destinations
can be configured. Configuration sample:

The microphone, which is the

weakest part, can be easily
replaced thanks to the use of a
standard XLR connector. In this case, the device must be assembled
accordingly. So, indicate it in your order to avoid
unnecessary manipulation at installation time.
