LATEX REMOVER

Technical Bulletin

LATEX-REMOVER is an emulsion cured latex stripper for brush-on or spray-on application.

The product is formulated from chlorinated hydrocarbons.

CAUTION:

LATEX-REMOVER is an acid activated stripper. Care should be taken to use the product only
in a well-ventilated area. Do not allow contact on skin. If accidentally spilled on skin, flush with
plenty of water.

FEATURES:

* will remove most cured latex, paints, sealants and caulking compound and Buna-N
Rubber.

* Easily rinsed from stripped surfaces using water.

* Adheres to polymer/paint surfaces in a thick active coating.

* Non-corrosive to most metals, except magnesium and zinc.

CAUTION :

As the product contains chloro hydrocarbon solvent, slowly unscrew bungs from drums to allow
pressure build-up to escape before opening fully.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:

Flash point - Non inflammable.

APPLICATION:

Apply by spraying on a heavy coating. Use low velocity equipment that does not atomize
LATEX-REMOVER.

LATEX-REMOVER may be also applied by brushing on a heavy coating as follows:

- (a) Pour about 2 gallons in a suitable pail.

(b) Begin application on top surface using a bristle brush and work down.
(c) Replenish the material in the pail as needed.

Scrubbing:

Allow adequate time for penetration. When the polymer/latex/paint is loose (wrinkle or softened,
depending on the paint), either scrap away with stripper or scrub the stripped area thoroughly to
dislodge all the paint.

Apply more LATEX-REMOVER in area where the stripping is not complete.

RINSING:

When all the latex/paint film is loose, scrub the surface clean with water and a brush.
Finally, rinse with thinner.

It is preferable on wood to scrap the loose latex/paint and stripper from the surface and to
rinse with thinner, thus avoiding the use of water.

To Swell Thiokol Sealants & Caulking Compound and Buna-N:

Apply heavy coating of LATEX-REMOVER. After the material is softened or dislodged,

remove with a scrapper. A phenolic plastic scrapper will not damage anodized aluminum or
other polished surface and satisfactory resists LATEX-REMOVER.

To Remove Dried Paint Brushes:

(a) Soak for about 5 minutes in LATEX-REMOVER.

(b) Work the bristles in LATEX-REMOVER until loose.
(c) Flush out with water.
(d) Heavily loaded brushes may require two or three cleanings. Do not over treat.
