INTRODUCTION

Malaysia’s #1 half marathon event is back !

Into its 4th instalment, the PROTON HSN21km 2019 is fast becoming the biggest half
marathon event in Malaysia, with nearly 16,000 runners.

This year, we revert back to a morning run as we move to Putrajaya to accommodate the
larger than ever crowd. Different flag off time but the experience will continue to be
uniquely PROTON HSN21km.

RACE PACK COLLECTION

The race pack collection will be held at the PROTON Centre of Excellence in Subang
Jaya. Race pack collection will be between 4-6 October, between the hours of 10am to
7pm

COLLECTING YOUR RACE KIT
Please bring your confirmation slip, either a print copy of electronic version, your identi-
fication card to collect your race kit.

For those collecting on behalf of friends or family members, please make sure you have
the necessary documents for collection.

If you are collecting for a large group ie above 10 pax, please approach the Group/Bulk
Collection counter.

Runners are not allowed to change their shirt size or colour. We will deliver as per
registration only.

RACEPACK
RUNNING SHIRTS

Unique to PROTON HSN21km, our running shirts are distinct based on the distance you
registered.
BIB & TIMING CHIP
All bibs, with the exception of the YAKULT 5km non-competitive, will have an embed-
ded timing system on the back of the each bib. Please ensure that the bibs are activated
by scanning it at the timing booth after receiving your pack at Race Pack Collection

All runners’ bibs are indentified/separated both alphabetically and by associated

colours. Please ensure your have the correct runner’s bib to correspond to your
distance and category

Do remember to attach your Runner’s Bib prominently and as high as possible – and
attach them to the front of your Running Shirt with the safety pins that have been
provided.
Tampering with the Runner’s Bib in in any way (e.g. obscuring/removing sponsor’s
identification, timing chip) will result in disqualification from PROTON HSN21KM 2019.

This year, your bibs will come with a QR code where you could download your race time
immediately after completing your race. Simply download a QR code reader and scan
on the Qr code image on your bib.

e-certificates at www.hsn21km.com post race.
all e-certificates will come with the runners’ timing, except for the YAKULT 5km
non-competitive race.

RACE DAY INFORMATION

The PROTON HSN21km 2019 will be held at Anjung Floria, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman,
Presint 4, 62000 Putrajaya, Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya

GETTING THERE
Unfortunately, Putrajaya is not accessible via public transport, especially in the early
hours.

Please make your way to Putrajaya (carpool if you can, let’s reduce our carbon footprint).
From KL, the MEX Highway is the easiest way to get to Putrajaya.

Other highways that connects to Putrajaya includes

- LDP

PARKING
There are numerous available parking areas nearby but do not that traffic will be divert-
ed from 4am onwards when the authorities make arrangements for road closure for the
race.

Please do not park indiscriminately especially along the race route. The authorities will
clamp your cars if you do so and cars will only be allowed to leave the race route after
the road closure is lifted at 9am.

PRAYER FACILITIES

To our Muslim runners, please note that Subuh prayers is at 5.43am

For those performing their Subuh prayers, the nearest mosque is the Masjid Tuanku
Mizan Zainal Abidin, which is approximately 400m from Anjung Floria.

Alternatively, there will be a temporary surau set up at the Race Village. For hygiene
purposes, we encourage all muslimahs to bring their own telekungs when performing
their prayers.

Along the 21km route, we too have organised temporary suraus at the 7.5km and
13.5km marks. These suraus will be next to the hydration stations.

BAGGAGE CHECK-IN
There will be free baggage check-in facility at the Baggage Check-In Tent. The tent is
marked on the layout map.

Spaces are limited and will be on a first-come-first-served basis. We recommend all

runners to only bring essentials to PROTON HSN21km
DRINKING STATIONS

Drinking water is available at the Start/Finish area and at approximately every 2.5KM
mark along the route

LUCOZADE STATIONS

Lucozade isotonic drinks will be available at approximately every 5KM mark for the
21KM and 10KM distances, and at approximately every 2.5KM mark for the 5KM
distance.

TOILETS

Portable toilets are available at the Start/Finish line and at a number of points along the
route. (please refer to the route map)

All Elite runners are to report to the start arch so that they could positioned themselves
at the front of the wave. The Elite pen will close 10mins before each designated flag-off
time

ENTRY TO STARTING PEN

Runners are requested to commence to the starting area enclosures at least 30 minutes
before their respective flag-off times.

Once a runner enters the barricaded technical area, he/she will not be allowed to leave
the enclosure

Late arrival to the starting pen may result in you not being allowed to participate in the
run

PROTON HSN21KM ELITE PEN

The Elite pen is an exclusive starting block reserved for our elite runners to start unhin-
dered at the start line

Runners are pre-selected to qualify for the elite pen based on the submission of their
personal best timing in a recognised race in 2019

Elite runners are required to gather at the elite pent/tent at least 15minutes before
flag-off
CUT-OFF TIMES (COT)
At PROTON HSN21km, we encourage participation rather than competition. In view of
this, we have the longest cut off time for organised run event. However, we will adhere
strictly to the cut off time set as we will have to reopen all roads as dictated by the
authorities.

For the 21km distance, if a runner is unable to reach the 15km mark within the 2.5 hours
after starting off, that runner will be deemed unable to complete the run within the COT
allocated and will be picked up and brought to the finish line by our designated shuttles

Likewise, for the 10km distance, if a runner is unable to reach the 6km mark within the
1.5 hours after starting, that runner will be deemed unable to complete the run within
the COT allocated. He/She will be picked up and brought to the finish line by our desig-
nated shuttles

For the 5km run, a runner unable to reach the 3km mark within 1hour will be brought
back to the finish line

Medals, certificates, Finisher shirts (for the 21km distance only) will NOT be given out to
runners who are unable to complete the run with within the stipulated cut-off times

10km 2 hours 30 minutes

5km 1 hour 45 minutes

Medical personnel will be stationed and available at the Race Village, the start/finish
areas and well as approximately every 5km along the routes

Medical officials are authorised to stop/prohibit any runner from continuing their race, if
medical assessment deem it necessary

Terms & Conditions

- Lucky Draw Contest is open to ALL registered PROTON HSN21KM 2019 participants.
- Only ONE (1) Lucky Draw entry is accepted per-person and DUPLICATE entries under the same individual will not be entertained.
- Each registered PROTON HSN21KM 2019 participant will be entitled to ONE (1) Lucky Draw Ticket in the form of their assigned -
PROTON HSN21KM 2019 running bib number.
- All Winners must be in possession of a valid PROTON HSN21KM 2019 running bib and be able to present it to be entitled to the
prizes.
- Participants will only be eligible to win ONE (1) prize.
- The Lucky Draw will be conducted on RACE DAY (13 October 2019) and draw results will be announced on Race Day and
published via the event’s official social media networks, ie website, Facebook page and Instagram account.
- Once a winner has been drawn and announced. No re-draw will be conducted if the winner is not present to collect the prize on
event day.
- All winners will have 2 WEEKS to claim their prizes, after which the prizes will be disposed at the discretion of the Organiser.
- In the event of any dispute arising from the Lucky Draw contest, all decisions made by the Organiser shall be final and conclusive.
- By participating in the Lucky Draw, the winners and entrants agreed to the use of His/Her name and image in any publicity material.
Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current Malaysian data -
protection law and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
- The Organiser reserve the rights to modify these terms and conditions without prior notice.
EVACUATION PROTOCOL
In the event of an emergency or fire alarm, please move away from the affected areas
towards safety

INCLEMENT WEATHER PROTOCOL

In the interest of runner’s safety, the Organiser reserves the right to postpone/delay
an/or indefinitely cancel the run on short notice and at any given time

In the event of heavy rain and/or lightning prior to flag-off, the race (regardless of
distance and category) will be delayed by 30 minutes

Due to the need to reopen roads in and around Putrajaya, if rain persists after the initial
30 minutes delay has passed, the run will be cancelled

Runners are to adhere to instructions from the Race Marshalls and Officials on site, in the
event of heavy rain and/or unsafe weather conditions after the flag-off

All runners are entitled to their Finisher entitlements (Finisher shirt for the 21km race
category, medal and e-certificate) if the run is cancelled due to weather or any act of
God
No refunds will be offered
ROAD CLOSURE
Please take note of the following roads, in and around Anjung Floria, Putrajaya that are to
be closed due to PROTON HSN21KM 2019.

Road closure and traffic diversion will commence from 4am onwards on the 13th of Octo-
ber 2019 and is scheduled to last up to 10am on the same day.

Full road closure on Lebuh Sentosa from 4am to 7.30am

Full road closure on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman heading north up to the Lebuh Setia con-
nector from 8pm on the 11th of October 2019 to 11am on the 13th of October.
