NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION 2021

I. RATIONALE

July is Nutrition Month! We ask everyone to join our campaign to spread the
message and to show support in ensuring good nutrition. The National Nutrition
Council, the policy making and coordinating agency on nutrition, calls on everyone to
participate in the 47th Nutrition Month campaign. For this year, the focus is on
catalyzing actions to address child first 1000 days of life. The theme “Malnutrisyon
patuloy na Labanan First 1000 days Tutukan” expresses the aspiration of Filipino
families to have children who are able to achieve their fullest potential, and this can
be attain when we all work together.
The theme demand for continued efforts to address malnutrition in the country
which is expected to worsen because of the pandemic and limited resources for
nutrition. The theme calls for all sectors to focus efforts on the First 1000 Days of life
as the strategic intervention to prevent stunting and obesity. It becomes more
imperative to ensure nutrition among Filipinos to improve resilience against disease
and minimize the long-term effects of malnutrition.
The Nutrition Month logo represents the goal of having taller children (ruled arrow)
and this is nurtured by proper care and nutrition (hands at the bottom) with focus on
the first 1000 days (the arrow and the three heads).

II. OBJECTIVES

1. Raise awareness on the impact of stunting and evidence-based solutions among

families and communities leading to change in behaviors to prevent Malnutrition.

2. Stimulate the communities, learner and parents’ discourse on Malnutrition to

understand its causes and give solutions for increased investments in
interventions;
3. To improved food intake and nutrition by increasing knowledge in diversified
sources of food and preparing a complete and healthy meal for the family.

II. OUTCOME
The expected outcomes of the examination are the following:
● To change proper lifestyle and diet in the family
● To help the students be equipped in nutrition information for them to apply it to
their daily lives.
● To encourage the students to participate in promoting and advocating wellness
and proper diet for Filipinos.

Presentation of Opening of the nutrition month activities on FB page of Burot
Integrated School.

B. BIS 10M Skips Challenge

Jumping rope Skip Challenge to all learners of Burot Integrated School.
Date: July 9, 2021
Mechanics:
1. Open to all Students of BIS
2. Participants must be a follower of Burot Integrated School FB page before sending an
Entry.
3. Each Participant will send a video while counting skips using jumping rope.
4. Participants with the most number of skips will be the winner.

C. Online Poster Making and Slogan Making Contest

Date: July 12, 2021 Online Poster Making for Grade 7
July 16, 2021 Online Slogan Making for Grade 8
Mechanics:
1. The Poster Online Making Contest is open to Grade 7 students of BIS only.
2. Slogan Online making is open to Grade 8 Students of BIS only.
3. Participants must be a follower of Burot integrated School FB page before sending
an entry.
4. Each Participant may submit one (1) poster/slogan
5. The participant should use Long size bond paper, pencil, pentel pen and other coloring
material.
6. Each Entry should revolve around the 47th National Nutrition Month 2021 theme "
Malnutrisyon patuloy na Labanan First 1000 days Tutukan!
D. Digital Animation

4. Ang mananalo ay makakatanggap ng Certificates na ipamimigay sa Culminating
Program sa darating na July 31, 2020

July 23, 2021 Online Nutri-Quiz For All Grade Level

F. Cookfest Online
1. The Online Cookfest is open to Parents and Students of BIS.
2. Participants must be a follower of Burot integrated School FB page before sending an
entry.
3. Particpants Should be Duo: Parent and student
4. The main ingredients for the dishes are SWEET POTATO, MALUNGGAY AND
AVOCADO.
5. Each team shall submit their PHOTO WITH #BIDA ANG LUTO SA BAHAY.
6. Give a short Description about the food.
