ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON GPP

GULAYAN SA PAARALAN PROJECT

S.Y 2022-2023

I. INTRODUCTION

The school has been a basic foundation of skills and learning and is the
ideal point for a project such as the Gulayan sa Paaralan. It will not only
benefit the students regarding sustainability but will embed in their
awareness the realization of how important these vegetables, their nutrients
and vitamins and the effect of healthy living are.

Implementing Gulayan sa Paaralan Project can help students learn about

ways to enhance their nutritional status and how planting improves the
beautification of their surroundings. It also serves as a useful role-playing
activity where students may practice leadership and providing helpful
service. It is one of the livelihood skills that students will learn in school,
gardening, can be implemented and recreated in their houses. It introduces
small-scale food production to the community, which will improve their
perception of food security, health awareness, and income. This will teach
the teachers, students and the community on how to improve their
nutritional status, knowledge where food comes from and how sowing
promotes enhancement of their surroundings.

Our School Principal, Sir Sunder L. Gapuz, together with the teachers
and SPTA officers, conducted a meeting with regards to this project. Our
school principal assigned designated areas in every grade level for putting
up their gardens. Different varieties of vegetable plants are planted such as
pechay, chili, eggplant, okra, jute and camote. Soil was well cultivated in
nurturing the plants and also used containers and other recycled materials
such as tires. Our generous stakeholder, Sir Oscar A. Judan, helped the
school project with financial support for building up our "Bahay Kubo sa
Paaralan," which is surrounded with plots for planting vegetables and a
nursery that will benefit our young students. The cooperation of teachers,
students, parents, and barangay officials headed by Punong Barangay,
Diosdado M. Estioko, was part of this successful project.
