program is a part of the national effort to ensure the development and
nutrition among Filipino students by providing the needed vegetables for school

among students. It also aims to boost the awareness of the students on the significance of
growing vegetables.

The Gulayan sa Paaralan of Jose C. Pastor Memorial Elementary School give and
sustain the nutrition of malnourished students. It also improves the students’ skills in
the field of agriculture. It is viewed as one of practical and empirical ways of
teaching and engaging the students in activities- like land preparation, sowing of small
seeds in a seed box/bed and planting direct seeds in garden plots, maintenance, pest
control and harvesting. To have a successful implementation of this program it
prescribes the participation and involvement of students, parents, and other members
of the community.
