The media gives us what we they know we want to see.

If people suddenly started paying more attention to

politics than like stupid stories about dogs, the media would immediately start showing more political stories. Ya
feel?

The Media kind of creates us because we see something or someone and we want to be like them of have that.
Some what because we don't actually do the thing they do on television. Yes it's both they give us something that
we want to see.

I think that media makes us who we are at times, it shows us the things we don't like and the things we don't want
to be but from there we obtain knowledge and things through experiences.

The media simply gives the people what they want. Everything on TV is based on the views that it gets. If people
stop watching a certain show, then that show is no more. So more or less the media is just giving us what we
want which is a source of entertainment.

I believe that the media just broadcasts what interests us as humans so in a way it does indeed reflect us.
Although that may be true, we often blame the media for broadcasting our interests and this continues in a cycle.

The media is a mirror of who most people are. I think so because most people go the media to hear daily news
events-- some of which are not important most of the time. The internet has impacted this issue by giving people
access to more "infotainment" than we've ever had before. Media shows us what we want to see so they can be
successful.

I think that the relationship between what the media shows the people and the wants of the people is one where
the media shows the people what the people want, but in turn, the people act on that and blame the media for the
harms of it, and the media shows new content, creating a never ending loop of influences.

The media gives us what we, they known and what we want to see, and they creates us because we see
something or someone and we want to be like them. The media and internet is just a faster way of exchanging
that knowledge

I feel like the reflects what we do but it also gives a twist to the image. We the source of the medias power but
they only display what they want you to see. The media impacts and is impacted by everything that we
do.1/26/2015

The media impacts and contributes toward our cynicism, short attention spans, and demand for infotainment.
FOX News, the most viewed TV news channel, mostly report the most dramatic and "entertaining" news. And
they report them in short periods of time -- giving out only the juicy highlights. While, HLN, the lowest rated news
channel, report dramatic news, but in lengthy periods of time.

No, I feel that the media does not reflect the actions that we take. The media gives the people the image of what
they want to see, hear and feel. The rapid changing of information and images, I feel, does contribute greatly
towards our short attention span. Cynicism and the demand for infotainment is something that can be affected by
the media, but more of an individual or environmental impact.

The media serve as a mirror of who we are because they give us what we want but in turn we get mad because
of the certain things that we want.

The media, in a lot of ways, acts as a mirror to society. The media responds to its viewers, so what we really see
is ourselves. Since they are trying to sell their product and get views and higher ratings, their best bet would be to
show what society would respond to.

I think that the media does serve as a mirror to who we are in a way. The media doesn't show us things unless
we want to see it. If we didn't want to see all of these ridiculous reality TV shows, they wouldn't put them on the
air. These show get such high ratings, people want to see it.
These shows are REALITY shows. They depict classic American life. Honey-Boo-Boo and Duck Dynasty and 16
and Pregnant follow the lives of 'regular' American people-- and we all watch it. Even here in America, we make
fun of these show as to be American stereotypes. We are admitting that that is how most American people are.
I think that the media does feed America's cynicism and nearly blissful ignorance. We think that if we act
sterotypical, we'll get a TV show about our lives and have our 15 minutes of fame.

The internet or media, reflects it's stories on what it knows we read. So in way, yes they do just give the people
what they want. Think about tv and what they have on, drama shows and anything else that, in our human
nature, captures our attention.

The media creates us because our demands change gradually depending on what we see. Many of us, not
everyone, shape our behavior and our personality based on what we see from others on the media. For example,
several teenagers like to follow their favorite tv personalities. They like to do what those people on tv do, and
even what they wear is inspired by them.

there is an interdependence between humans and technology because technology isnt self sufficient and
humans fuel the fire that is media because we support it.

I think actually does impact us in a way even though some of these TV shows are just ridiculous and stupid but
others are like helping young people and it gives them inspiration in the way that they see it. Its not just that we
wish we could live like those people on TV but its just that its for money and to laugh and entertain us. Honestly I
think some of the reality shows that are on TV are stupid.Like PBS kids is a great show for children and teens if
they like that kind of stuff

The media creates us from the dependence of technology. The media shows the wants then people take into
action being notified from info but then people blaming the media making it vice versa.

The media contributes to short attention span by showing commercials that are more entertaining than
informative even if the consumer should be learning about the product.

The media creates, people who strive to look like the people they see on television. People's appearances in
reality are diverse but the media creates a need to be a certain way that if you didn't see it everyday on television
no one would feel any need to look a certain way

Common knowledge is created by the media even though it might not be factual.

I think the media is a representation of who we are and they put out the info we want to hear. That is why news
channels tend to report more about entertainment than actual news.
