2.5 Data transfer

Data transfer from PC will not start until cable has been connected and monitor
has been configured into data transmission mode (See section 2.3.3.3.)

To make transference, use program “BAlarm”, previously installed on PC. Run

this program by double-clicking “BAlarm” icon.

To select serial port where monitor is connected, select “Communications-

>COMport…” from top menu. It will appear a dialogue window to select port from a
list. Once it is selected, press "OK".

To start data transfer, select “Communications->Download”. If monitor is

correctly connected and in data transmission mode, transfer should start automatically.

Program will now transfer all data stored on memory card. This process can take
some minutes, depending on amount of transmitted data and other factors. It is common
that, during communication process, transmission stops for a few seconds and continues
automatically. This occurs due to failures on transmission medium and protocol used.

If an error occurs, program will finish communication and inform to user. In this
case, check connections and configuration of serial port. Check also that monitor is on
transmission mode.

If transmission ends correctly, communication window will disappear and

received data process will start. This process can take some minutes, depending on
amount of data stored on monitor memory and capacity computer.
