Millennials are the generation of people born between 1981 and 1996 and they form 34% of the

total
population in India. Out of the total corporate workforce of India, 46% is comprised of millennials who
are expected to take over the workplace by 2025. Nowadays, the corporate is in dire need of a
workplace culture that all of its employees would love to be a part of it. Since the past few years, every
industry has been influenced by emerging technologies, shifting lifestyles, and a focus on corporate
culture. The advancement of technology, particularly the Internet, is altering workplaces and the world
of work in general. However, since millennials have been introduced to these technologies right from
their birth and have been grown up in era of internet, they have an upper hand in understanding these
various modes of technologies with ease. Also, the modern education curriculum has allowed them to
easily get accustomed to these emerging technologies. Apart from this, millennials value interesting
work and a good work–life balance. They do not believe that excessive work demands are worth
sacrifices in their personal lives which provides them with an upper hand over all of their previous
generations. Millennials are blessed with some of the positive qualities like – they believe in team
work, they believe in open and frequent communication with their superiors also they have good
interpersonal skills. So, this research article describes a contextual overview that illustrates and sheds
light on some of these defining features of the millennials, and how millennial employees are
transforming the workplace.
