9 A computer is an electronic device that works on information, or data.
9 It has the ability to store, process and retrieve data.
9 We use a computer to do various tasks like typing documents, sending email, playing games, browsing
the Web and creating spreadsheets, presentations, videos etc.
9 Thus, a Computer is a versatile machine which can perform following tasks:
Storage:

9 Computers can store the data and information.

9 We can store our data like letters, documents, spreadsheets, presentation, audio, video etc. in a
storage devices like hard disk or pen drive.
9 In computers, data and information are stored in form of files.
Communication:

9 Computers can communicate.

9 We can make audio and video calls or send electronic mail in few seconds to any part of globe.
9 We may arrange the group talk using audio or video conferencing.
Automation:

9 Computers can automate the tasks.

9 Automation is the use of technology to accomplish a task with as little human interaction.
9 In computing, automation is usually accomplished by a program.
Security:
