What is animal abuse?
Animal cruelty involves gratuitously inflicting
harm, injuring, or killing an animal. The
cruelty can be intentional, such as kicking,
burning, stabbing, beating, or shooting; or it
can involve neglect, such as depriving an
animal of water, shelter, food, and necessary
medical treatment.
Why should we care about animals?
Every animal in the world needs to be taken
care by providing them food, shelter and
veterinary care. The behavior of most of the
domestic animals is mainly observed by how
we treat them. If we treat them with good
care, love and compassion, they will definitely
show the same love and respect towards us.
How can we raise awareness about
abused animals?
1. Volunteer at your local animal shelter. Often,
when abused animals are taken to a shelter,
they are very afraid of people.
2. Donate money.
3. Go Orange for Animals.
4. Report cruelty.
5. Tell others about the cause.
This brochure features on abused animals. It talks
about how we can help an animal not get extinct.
The brochure talks about what is animal abuse, why
should we care about abused animals, how can we
raise awareness about abused animals. So, let’s start

Why do humans use animals for their own
entertainment?
Animals are used extensively in the entertainment
industry, including in circuses; zoos and pseudo-
sanctuaries; marine parks; the exotic “pet” trade;
advertisements, television shows, and movies; cruel
“sports” such as bullfighting, rodeo events, and horse
racing; and more.
