This costume may be used in the

Panagbenga Festival since this is an

annual flower festival celebrated every
February which takes place in Baguio
City, Philippines. The term
“Panagbenga” comes from a Kankanaey
term meaning “season of blooming”.
This festival reflects the history,
traditions and values of Baguio and the Cordilleras. It lasts over a month long and flourishes through
community spirit involvement.

The advantage of celebrating the Panagbenga Festival to our climate, environment, and season is that
Baguio is known to be a low temperature climate and flowers are blooming beautifully and rapidly so
people from the downhills and other tourist will surely love the place and the majestic topiary creations
using the flowers.

The costume design or headdress is readily available in every household. I used a very little and not too
much flower to see the beauty of the literary character, Dian Masalanta. Although, you have the option to
add more flowers using the candy wrapper and bottled soda, Sprite.
