What is a CRNA
• A CRNA is a certified registered
nurse anesthetist.

• Nurse anesthetist provide


anesthesia and related care
before, during, after surgical,
therapeutic, diagnostic, and
obstetrical procedures.

• They also provide pain management


and emergency
services, such as airway
management.
Education
• A bachelors of science in nursing, and
then a masters of science in nursing.

• Must obtain a certification from


National Board of Certification and
Recertification for Nurse Anesthetist.

• To earn a CRNA certification, after


school I must apply for state licensure as
an APRN- nurse anesthetist.

• Salary: $170,000- $230,000


About CRNA
• CRNA is projected to grow up to 45%
in the next 10 years.

• Professionalism, quick critical


thinking, and problem-solving
skills are the main characteristics
required for CRNA.

• Empathy is another characteristic.,


working with sick people can take a
special person to understand them.

- Flexible schedule. - Significant responsibility.


Is it For Me?
• Work in hospitals, doctors' offices,
surgical clinics, respirator therapy
departments, emergency rooms, and
outpatient care centers.

• Being a CRNA means you could be


needed at anytime, taking care of
other people is a big responsibility.
For Me?
• You must be able to be sensitive and
understanding.

• Be able to work night shifts or


dayshift whenever you are needed.
Working as a CRNA
• Nurse anesthetists provide
anesthesia and related care before,
during, and after surgical,
therapeutic, diagnostic, and
obstetrical procedures.
• Good CRNA has thinking skills no
one can beat, able to see details,
relaxed, and quick to react in an
emergency, or any other daily
activities.
