HOUSING PROJECTS CASE STUDY OF BASMAYA CITY (BAGHDAD CITY)

ABSTRACT
The new contemporary urban management depends on the implementation of technological developments
- Information Technology, communication networks and software programs; in the management of urban
projects. On the other hand, most of the cities in Iraq suffer from poor management which depends on old
traditional or incomplete new ways in the management which eventually leads to wasting a lot of time and
money.
The thesis of this research assumes and suggests an integrated approach in the implementation of
Information technology for Iraqi cities, using the software programs and communication networks in the
urban projects management, just like what was achieved in Basmaya city (a housing project in Baghdad).
This project of Basmaya is considered as an example for the new contemporary management that helped in
saving time, efforts and money, and it provided security, peace and environment protection.
