The undersigned is directed to enclose herewith a copy of Safety Glass (Quality

Control) Amendment Order, 2022 published in the Extra-ordinary Gazette of India vide
notification S.O. No. 620 (E) dated 11.02.2022 for your information and necessary action.

2. Industries/ Associations are requested to utilize this extended period to clear their
certification issues that are pending with BIS. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is requested to
give wide publicity to this QCO which comes into force w.e.f 01.04.2023 and help the industry
to complete the certification process & prepare itself for the implementation of the QCO.

ORDER
New Delhi, the 10thFebruary, 2022
S.O. 620(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 16 read
with sub-section (3) of section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of2016), the Central
Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, is of the opinion that it is necessary so to
do in the public interest, hereby makes the following Order further to amend the Safety Glass (Quality
Control) Order, 2020, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement.-(l) This Order may be called the Safety Glass (Quality Control)
AmendmentOrder, 2022.
(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publicationin the Official Gazette.
2. In the Safety Glass (Quality Control) Order, 2020 in paragraph 1, for sub-paragraph(2), the following
sub-paragraphshall be substituted, namely:-
"(2) It shall come into force with effect from 151 April, 2023.".
