Book Name: Political Ideals (Political Science)

Author (Bertrand Russell) – The author was a philosopher, author, social critic and the
most influential Philosopher of the 20th century.
Note: The book does not only focus on politics
Personal learnings - What I enjoy about this book is that you can gain a lot of
knowledge from it. It's a concept and an analysis about global politics, socialism, and
others. Everything about the book is intriguing and captivates the reader's attention.
Like if one man knows science, it does not prevent others from learning it, which is how
the world works. If one does something, others will benefit from it. What the author
meant was that whoever holds authority and is above someone, which the author is
trying to say is that the people who follows that certain person (Like a leader or with
high authority) affect them and others who don’t as well because we are all in one
society, and whoever wields the authority or above others is the ultimate source. He
also mentions about interesting facts like if you kill an artist, you cannot acquire his art
or his thoughts, you don't actually kill someone, but I believe he was implying that you
won't be able to develop your abilities if you focus on who would wield the power rather
than how to achieve that power.
Overview of the content - There are many topics and details covered in this book,
including how the rich do not fear destitution because they want to possess more wealth
and power, and how a good political institution, such as capitalism, can have negative
consequences because the rich care less about the underprivileged and their primary
objective is to exploit the property of their specific target which only benefits them rather
then helping the entire poverty and it makes the poor poorer and how a system would
allow economic injustices but would forbidden robbery and he considers it as the most
evil part of a system. And how democracy is the best invention to diminish such
interference of the government because of liberty and many more to mention because
each page contains different views on things related to economics and politics, the
subject matter also talk abouts society, good things and bad things about politics, and
many more to mention/
Part of the book I like – How each page includes not only his interpretation on politics
and the economy, but also represents the truth that some don't seem to notice since we
are so blinded by liberty and such things. and I also love his writing style, it is so well
thought. and I agree with his viewpoints, and I definitely find his views rather intriguing
yet it was difficult for me to understand and makes me lose my enjoyment because I
needed to do more research which is why I did not like the entire book but it was a good
read.

Book Name: No Longer Human (Sociology)

Author (Dazai Osamu) – was a 20th century Japanese novelist, His last book, No
Longer Human, is his most popular work outside of Japan.
Personal Learnings - Even after reading the novel, I'm still not convinced that
someone like Yozo (the main protagonist) is completely unaware of and incapable of
understanding such 'simple' things simple is what I would call them. He claimed that he
had never understood the kind of people who could be happy and serene while
engaged in deceit. I think that he believes that we hide our inner nature and thinks it is
absolutely impossible to feel such sensation since he himself feels that way.it is
understandable that he considers his life to be miserable because he frequently focused
of how others feel rather than himself. He was presented as an empty person and
dismal figure in the book. the reality of someone suffering from mental illness. No part of
the book was an exaggeration it was simply a true event, the book taught me that we all
view on such matters and that others would view us differently than what is actually real.
This book also taught me that we should allow ourselves to be open and allow others to
talk freely about themselves so they don’t have to hide their inner-self and become a
‘clown’ just like Yozo, he was never understood until he died, this book would often
make me question how others are feeling and I wish to know more about what others
are thinking.
Overview of the content – The book contains mental issues something that I don’t
seem to grasp for instance, “I could believe in hell, but it was impossible for me to
believe in the existence of heaven” he says, I think he was implying that his life has
been a living hell having a hard time to grasp what it means to be human and what
makes humans seemed so special. The book talks about the past life of Yozo before he
committed suicide and what his thoughts and perception of society, and his behavior
towards his friends. He was a man of his own world, holding a mask to hide his true
identity, as long as he can make other people life, he will be nothing he will be a wind,
he says. The novel mostly involves about his perception of society and what it means to
be human and he would question about the strangest things.
Part of the book I like - I have a hard time putting myself in other people's shoes,
which is why I chose this book to read because it deals with human behavior and how
different people are and I want to understand how their mind works. I always assumed
the book used hyperbolic statements or dramatic idioms because I never understood
the writer’s viewpoints, but when I learned that the book's actual protagonist committed
suicide, I couldn't help but pick up to read the book and try to understand it. The
protagonist’s thinking was odd, he was like a doll incapable of comprehending such
emotions, and he calls himself a clown, which is ironic because clowns are hired to
make others laugh and pretend to be humorous, except he is a clown who don’t get
anything in return. He refers to call other people as human beings rather than people
because he does not regard himself to be one, which was painful and hard to read
because he truly was different from others which made me love his character and how
he views society and how much I want to understand him, although I have already done
some research about him but I still want to know more about him, not his life, but his
perception.
