Each year SAP’s Premium Hub Center of Expertise (CoE) in North America hosts
high school students to participate in a weeklong Summer Orientation. The
 RSS Feed program provides students who are interested in pursuing careers in STEM-
related fields the opportunity to learn about SAP technologies through different
activities while receiving educational and career advice from professionals in the
field.

This year Summer Orientation featured a jam-packed schedule, from expert

innovation sessions to career development guidance. The week started off with a
brief introduction of SAP along with a presentation on the various internship
opportunities offered to college students. Students also had a career tip session,
where they received professional advice about their educational journey and
beyond. Later in the week, students also met Balaji Rao Gaddam, Head of
Premium Hub CoE North America, who shared the Premium Hub CoE’s purpose
and role in helping the world run better and improving people’s lives. Balaji also
talked to the students about their future plans and discussed his role at SAP.

Over the course of the week, students had the opportunity to learn about the
latest SAP technologies that industry professionals use every day, such as BTP,
CAI, DShop and IRPA. The students were then able to apply their technical skills
and newly acquired knowledge to the primary project of the week – building their
own app. They built a daily planner app using SAP’s MDK toolkit, while also
leveraging SAP Mobile Services and BTP. By the end of the week, the students

were ready to present their achievement and exceeded the SAP team’s
expectations.

“It was great to see the students dive into something they’ve never worked
with before and come out at the end of the week with their own customized
app. They blew me away with the final products they presented.” – John Salt,
SAP STAR Intern.

The students also enjoyed their time learning about SAP and gaining new skills.

“Thank you for the opportunity to attend the orientation! I really enjoyed the
orientation and learned a lot about what SAP is, how it functions, and how I can
develop apps on my own. Thank you to the instructors for being extremely
patient in order to walk us through each and every single one of our problems
and ultimately helping us find a solution.” – Pranav Pedavalli, student attendee.

Year after year, the Premium Hub CoE looks forward to hosting the Summer
Orientation and is continuously impressed with the students who participate.
SAP is happy to be a part of the students’ learning journey and we encourage
them to continue exploring their interests in STEM and beyond!
