Splendid Bob Thunder

A Short Story
by Jane Doe

Bob Thunder was thinking about Barry Gloop again. Barry was an
intelligent monster with wobbly toes and short elbows.

Bob walked over to the window and reflected on his backward

surroundings. He had always loved old-fashioned Moscow with its
knotty, knowing kettles. It was a place that encouraged his
tendency to feel fuzzy.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was

the an intelligent figure of Barry Gloop.

Bob gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was a splendid,

arrogant, beer drinker with spiky toes and sticky elbows. His
friends saw him as a low, little lawyer. Once, he had even rescued
an anxious disabled person from a burning building.

But not even a splendid person who had once rescued an anxious
disabled person from a burning building, was prepared for what
Barry had in store today.

The clouds danced like thinking ostriches, making Bob surprised.

Bob grabbed a magic blade that had been strewn nearby; he
massaged it with his fingers.

As Bob stepped outside and Barry came closer, he could see the
orange smile on his face.

"I am here because I want peace," Barry bellowed, in a cute tone.

He slammed his fist against Bob's chest, with the force of 4026
owls. "I frigging love you, Bob Thunder."

Bob looked back, even more surprised and still fingering the
magic blade. "Barry, I'm in love with you," he replied.

They looked at each other with happy feelings, like two many,
mammoth maggots singing at a very predatory wake, which had
drum and bass music playing in the background and two
scheming uncles hopping to the beat.

Bob regarded Barry's wobbly toes and short elbows. He held out
his hand. "Let's not fight," he whispered, gently.
"Hmph," pondered Barry.

"Please?" begged Bob with puppy dog eyes.

Barry looked concerned, his body blushing like a knobby, kooky

kettle.

Then Barry came inside for a nice drink of beer.
