Activity 6: Reflection

Watch “I choose C’ through this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dY2mRM4i6tY .

After watching, answer the following question:

1. Which question asked by the interviewer caught your attention? Why?

All of the questions asked by the interviewer are significant and relevant but the first one that
caught my attention is “What do you think is your greatest strength? It’s the basic type of question
to start an interview but it gives the company a view of yourself and it’s a foundation question that
leads to continuing and deepening the flow of the interview. More of that, this specific question is
hard and trickiest thus most of the interviewees failed to answer. This question is used by the
interviewer to perceive if you have possessed the skill and strengths that are required and fit for the
position you have applied for and to see how can you contribute to their company. Therefore, it is
important to know yourself better and prepare the specific skill relevant to the job.

2. Which answer by the interviewee caught your attention? Why?

I think most of the answers of the interviewee caught my attention because she was truly not an
appropriate way of answering the questions but if I could pick one it was in the middle part of the
video when the interviewer said that in order to get the job she needs to write a proposal about
energy conservations and the proposal need to include basic mathematics as well as scientific
research and then she answered “wait, I am confused” and the next part she was like complaining
about required skills and guidelines that the company set for that position. I was greatly astonished
because how can she say that to the interviewer if she wants to get the job like it useless going there
and feeling nervous when she was just primarily giving a negative impression. It was clearly seen
that the interviewee is not ready at all, she didn’t prepare herself and it can be seen by her answer
and the way she acts in front of the interviewee. She could have researched about the company to
have a basis and reviewed tips like the things that must not be done before, during, and after the
interview so that she can peacefully and professionally answer the question.

3. What were your feelings while watching the video?

As I have observed the video, it is a battle of mixed emotions as I was irritated, sad, frustrated, and
displeased with how the interviewee answered the questions and I just can’t fully describe my
feelings. From the way she dressed, where she wears a cap it is greatly evident that she didn’t give
importance to the dress code. Moreover, her behaviors during the interview touching her hair,
looking to the side, talking casually, and giving irrelevant information that is not aligned with the
questions. In conclusion, this is a way and sign to see the things that must avoid during an interview
in the future thus, it is important to have the time to fully set ourselves to ensure a successful
interview.
