INDUSTRY:
The primary effect of chemical industry on environment
and on the lifestyle as well ,is due to pollution arising from
the industrial activities resulting in gas emissions , waste
water polluting the natural ponds
And underground water. Polluted solids & underground water
if not treated.

AIR POLLUTION CAUSED BY CHEMICAL
PROCESS INDUSTRY:
Air emissions from chemical manufacturing can contain a
wide range of harmful substance which can have negative
effects on environment and human health . Chemical
industries release sulphur and carbon which reacts with
atmospheric oxygen produces sulphur dioxide , carbon
dioxide , &
Carbon monoxide which is harmful to health.

POLLUTION:

Air pollution is reduced used of advanced

petroleum refining techniques. One example is hydro
treatment , which uses hydrogen gas a catalyst to
produce gasoline and disel fuel with significantly lower
levels of sulphur and lead.
WATER POLLUTION CAUSED BY CHEMICAL PROCESS
INDUSTRY:
Industrial & agricultural work involves the use
of many different chemicals that can run off into
water and pollute it. Metals and solvents from
industrial work can pollute rivers and lakes . These
are poisonous to many forms of aquatic life and
may slow down their development ,make them
infertile or even result in death.
CONTROLS TAKEN AGAINST WATER
POLLUTION:

▪ A plant named “ Water Hyacinth” that can absorb dissolved toxic substance
like cadmium and mercury from water bodies.

▪ It is important to dump waste properly and not to dump it directly into water
bodies without proper treatment.

▪ Industries should treat their waste before disposing off into water bodies.
Sewage water treatment plants are meant to clean the contaminated water
so it can be safely discharged into the river stream.

▪ Chemical processes such as ion exchange method, coagulation method and

reverse osmosis can be used to reduce the level of water pollution.
SOIL POLLUTION CAUSED BY CHEMICAL PROCESS
INDUSTRY:
➢ The contamination of soil has a major consequence on human
health. Crops and plants that are grown on polluted soil absorb
most of the pollution and then pass them to humans. Living,
working, or playing in contaminated soil can lead to respiratory
diseases, skin diseases, and other health problems.
➢ The soil is an important habitat for different types of
microorganisms, birds, and insects. Thus, change in the
chemistry of soil can negatively impact the lives of living
organisms and can result in the gradual death of many
organisms.

POLLUTION:
Soil degradation is a complex problem that requires
Government , institutions , industries to joint measures . The
following actions we take against soil pollution

➢ Encourage more eco friendly model for industry

➢ Improve urban planning and waste water treatment
➢ Improve the management of mining waste
