Answer:

1. The video talks about the historical controversary regarding ‘’The Cry of
Pugadlawin” led by Andres Bonifacio on August 1896 wherein it is the initial
move of the Filipinos to begin the revolution for independence against Spain.
The date of the said event is not the same on different accounts made by Dr.
Pio Valenzuela, Santiago Alvarez and Guillermo Masangkay.
According to Pio Valenzuela, on August 22,1896 there are 500
members of the Katipunan in the house and yard of Apolonio Samson at
Kangkong and on Aug 23,1896 there are discussion and debate which consists
of 1000 members of the Katipunan in the house, store house and yard of Juan
Ramos at Pugad Lawin. Lastly, on Aug. 29,1896 there is discussion whether or
not the rebellion against the Spain should be started on that date. However,
on account of Santiago Alvarez, on 2 o’clock am they reach the house of
Apolonio Samson in Kangkong and August 23, 1896 the Katipunan members
arrived at Bahay Toro wherein Cabesang Melchora opened their granary and
killed their animals in order for them to eat foods. Then, August 24, 1896
there were meeting at 10:00 am inside Cabesa Melchora’s barn and lastly on
August 29,1896 there is an uprising to defend the people’s freedom. In
relation to Dr. Pio Valenzuela’s account Guillermo Masangkay said that the
first cry of Revolution started on August 23,1896 but he changed it on August
26 at Balintawak at the house of Apolonio Samson. In relation, the three
accounts are related on the last part wherein they tore their cedulas and
shouted “Long Live the Philippines Republic.”
2. There is a chance that all sources are valid because they are present on
the event like Dr. Pio Valenzuela and it is based on their experiences as a
member of the Revolutionary Government like Guillermo Masangkay and
Santiago Alvarez who presents an account devoid of any dramatic
descriptions wherein, he narrated what happened on that time. Moreover,
the details are connected to each other and they are just different when it
comes to the specific date because they are transferring from one place to
another and they are tired, confused and afraid that they might be traced by
the Spaniards.
3. The other information that I learned from the video is on Aug 19, 1896 the
Katipunan was discovered by the Spaniards. Also, on the event Andres
Bonifacio was elected as the President of the Philippines that is why he
proclaimed as the father of Philippine Revolution but he is not an official
president since Emilio Aguinaldo is the first president of Philippine Republic.
Lastly, the hardship traversed by Filipinos in order to start the First Cry of
Revolution is admirable because this is the reason in order to achieve the
independence against Spain.
