    Exercise 1.1

    Explain in your own words the difference between goods and services. Give your own
    examples.

    The difference between Goods and Services are Goods are palpable which human can
    touch it like laptop, ballpen, apple and many more. It is a thing that a person can purchase on a
    store, boutique and other places. On the other hand, Services are impalpable wherein you can’t
    touch it. Some examples of services are barber shop, dental clinic and printing and
    photocopying shop. This is rendering skills or providing acquired proficiency to other people in
    exchange of money.

    Cite the differences between manufacturing of goods and offering services by giving specific
    examples.

    The difference between Manufacturing goods and offering goods are manufacturing of
    goods are making products like baking cakes, making pencils, laptops, clothes and foods
    wherein different inputs are putting together in order to have an output. For example, in
    making cakes they are inputs like mixer, measuring cups, measuring spoons and their
    ingredients in order to make a desirable output such as cake. While offering Services are
    providing acquired proficiency on the day that people need it like rebonding hair. Furthermore,
    there are categories of services such as retailing/wholesaling, financial services, health and
    medical care, personal services, business services, education, hospitality and government.
    Retailing and wholesaling are selling foods, clothing, and other items wherein there is a person
    who interact with their customers in order them to buy what he/she sells. Second is Financial
    Services like banking and insurance wherein it includes financial professional who offering
    insurances that addressed the needs of people in case of emergency. Next is Health and
    Medical Care, an example are doctors, nurses, and dentists wherein they are the one who
    provides services in terms in medical field like operating and for the check-ups of the clients. On
    the other hand, Personal Services are cleaning, beauty and laundry wherein people who
    offered services are willing to go to the places of their clients in order to clean their house and
    washing clothes in exchange of money. Likewise, Business Services are includes photocopying
    and encoding which accommodate people in terms of duplicating documents and encoding
    data for business purposes. Education is one of the categories of services that include teaching
    students from primary, secondary and tertiary while Hospitality are those who accommodate
    people who go the hotel to have a vacation and served as a touring guide who didn’t know the
    places very well. Lastly, Government in terms of national and local who addressed the
    problems in terms of politics and justices and serving people of their community.
