Review Article on Knowledge Sharing In Supply Chain

This paper is to propose knowledge sharing in supply chain perspective to give insight to readers about the
challenges for knowledge sharing in supply chain and describes the critical success factors of knowledge sharing
by considering the previous challenges. This article is identified by four processes: creating, capturing,
distributing and sharing of knowledge.

Strength
The result of using the knowledge sharing in supply chain and its effect on knowledge sharing success is an
interesting area for further research. The knowledge sharing in supply chain can be used by large scale
organizations to guide in developing a knowledge sharing system effectively and more efficiently. Furthermore,
the Thermodynamics Properties of Knowledge Sharing is a good model for similar organizations to use, with
all the tools explained in the paper. The paper addresses some of the social elements related to successful
knowledge sharing in organizations.
The knowledge sharing is a tool that can help knowledge sharing practitioners and strategists to design effective
knowledge sharing systems efficiently, by guiding them in choosing tools that are suitable for certain knowledge
sharing processes. The paper also describes the Thermodynamics Properties of Knowledge Sharing model for
organizations which addresses all four knowledge sharing processes. It can also reduce information bottlenecks
and spark new and unlikely collaborations. Knowledge sharing is very important to create flexible manufacturing
and product development.

Weakness
The need to eliminate redundancy of efforts, and the need for strong collaboration among employees. The article
has redundant concept and mistakes due to identify the interpretation of define, use, review, share and apply
Knowledge in an organization. The study was not used to test the hypotheses of the study. Some of valuable
knowledge is stored in individuals that many of them are fuzzy and not possible to formalize.

Summary
Three major points emerge from the above discussion: A great deal of emphasis is given to understanding the
difference among data, information, and knowledge sharing and drawing implications from the difference.
Because knowledge is personalized, in order for an individual's or a group's knowledge sharing to be useful for
others, it must be expressed in such a manner as to be interpretable by the receivers. Hoards of information are of
little value; only that information which is actively processed in the mind of an individual through a process of
reflection, enlightenment, or learning can be useful.

Lesson Drawn
Minimizing knowledge sharing entropy benefits the increasing of knowledge loss in network. A trustable
knowledge sender is important to minimize loss of knowledge that reduces knowledge sharing uncertainty. It is
important to setup distance between transmitter and knowledge receiver at the initial stage of knowledge sharing
process.
In supply chain integration, it is important to share complete knowledge to their receiver, for instance it is
important to share demand information and also its variation to supplier since the supplier can get more credible
knowledge in terms of how to deliver the knowledge sender without putting some delivery delays. It can be
illustrated as follows. For instance a sender would like to share its knowledge by putting transmitter in city A to
send knowledge to receiver in city B, transmitter can be an communication tools or a third party for instance
consultant or transporter.
