In a world that we are living in, people holds an immense amount of enduring just to find one
thing: soulmate (love). Being a teenager is a first journey which our curiosity about love starts.
We find ourselves thinking “Unsaon kaha nako pag panguyab noh?” for boys, and girls start
having a different emotion or feelings which differ from their child state. Love is define as a
complicated matter that every one of us finds it difficult to figure things out, such as whether
what they are having is true or just another thing that need to endure for a reason. As a person,
we knew that one of the main thing in this word is to love someone and be truly loved back. I
always question this subject matter on why is it necessary for a human being to find someone
or to engage in love thing when they can manage to love their self? Is it really our destiny to
fall in love even though we mentally chose not to?

The three categories of love are puppy love, intense love and true love or unconditional love.
When it comes to finding a partner, we experienced those categories and some of us may not
realize it. Puppy love is considered to be our first girlfriend/boyfriend and mostly it happened
during high school days. It starts on having a school crush and the “ayieeee” of your classmates
and eventually lead to courting. As what I have experienced, puppy love is the second category
in love that hurts us most, because for some reason we thought to ourselves that they are the
one. Making some plans, imagining romantic things, carrying our bag, waiting outside in our
door class and even giving us food unexpectedly. Puppy love is fairy tale love, the one that we
think would last forever but it won’t, because soon we will realize that fairy tales don’t exist.
Second, intense love, love that can cause so much pain, a pain that teach you what you want
and what you don’t want. A type of love that can turn your world upside down. A love that
scares you to love again. A love that comes with the highest of highs and lowest of lows. A
type of love that tears you apart but teaches you. The last one is the unconditional love or true
love, a type of love which we did not see it coming. A love that will stay and make us feel love,
adored, secure and safe. A kind of love that throws away our insecurities and make us feel that
we are enough and better. A love that can make us sing “I like it better when I’m with you”.
I believe that each of us fall in love in our lifetimes and it is up to us whether we choose to
fight for that person or just to let them pass by in our life. We may think that love clouds our
judgment and can only cause problems that is why we chose not to love. We may manage to
love ourselves but there is always that one person that will question our thought. Love is
impossible to hide and just like a hide and seek game, the decision will be on the seeker (us)
and it is up to him/her if he/she choose to find them or just leave them be.
