 WORK REQUIREMENTS:
 
o Must be eligible to work in the country in which you are located.
o Must have lived in the country you are located in for 5 years.
o All work must be done in the country in which you are located
 Work while traveling abroad is not allowed.
o No work is to be performed in public places and must be performed on a non-shared computer.
o Minimum weekly production hours requirements:
 10 hours per week non-U.S. raters (INTL)
 15 hours per week U.S.-based raters
 No minimum number of hours is guaranteed as work loads can fluctuate.
 Work week runs Monday through Sunday (non-US raters)
 Work week runs Saturday through Saturday (US-based raters)
 Provide your services in the hours that fit your schedule.

 TOOLS REQUIRED:
 
o Microsoft Windows (7 or above) or MAC OS operating system
o A minimum screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels
o Working sound card and speakers for audio tasks
o Secured, broadband internet connection
o Chrome or Firefox browser are the only browser supported by the client's tool.
o Gmail and Google services access
 You will need to create a dedicated Gmail account for the project.
 More information will be provided on the next step.
o Android or iOS Smartphone (suggested)
o Antivirus and/or malware protection software installed
o Headset with microphone (suggested)

 NECESSARY SKILLS:
 
o Ability to rate tasks in English as well as your resident country's language
o Detail-oriented and able to switch between subjective and literal tasks.
o Flexibility, willingness to learn, and good communication skills.
o Must have resided in the country you are located in for at least 5 consecutive years
o Native or near-native understanding of your resident country's language
o Strong written and spoken English language skills
o Must be internet savvy and have the ability to perform effective side searches for better
understanding.
o Should be able to work on tasks using both smartphone and computer at the same time
o Must work independently.

 QUALIFICATION PROCESS:
 
o The Assessment process typically takes about 8 hours.
 o You will have about one week to complete the Assessment requirements.
o There will be multiple task types so make sure you TAKE BREAKS between each task.
o Please note that the assessment tool should only be opened in one tab of your web browser
and variance to this process may result in your qualification being suspended.
o You must thoroughly read and understand task guidelines and complete assessment.
 Please note: all materials are in English.
o If you successfully pass the assessment, you may be extended an offer.
o Any project information should NOT be discussed and shared to anyone.
o There is no compensation for participating in the Assessment cycle.

By participating in this type of rating, I understand and agree that:

 Location Reporting and History. I will turn on Location Reporting and Location History on the device(s) on
which I am logged into my Personal Account.
 Passive Location Collection. Once I turn on Location Reporting and Location History, my location will be
tracked by Google, and Google will passively collect data from my device(s) during my personal use of the
device(s). In addition to any use implied by the location data terms of service, I may also receive Rating
Tasks pertaining to my previous location history. Any personal use of the device(s) is not expected or
required, will not be treated as work time, and may not be billed as work time. Charges associated with
mobile data may apply. Appen is not responsible for these charges, and they cannot be billed to Appen.
 Limited Access to Photos Account. I allow Google to review my Google account to determine whether I
am a Photos user and the volume of photos and videos in my Account.
 Potential Impact on Other Google Products on Device. Turning on Location Reporting and Location
History for my Personal Account may impact my experience with other Google products.
 EWOQ Personalized Rating Tasks. I may be asked to complete Personalized Rating Tasks in EWOQ
based on Passive Collection data, including my personal location history, browsing history, mobile app
activity, and other internet activity. For example, I may be asked to confirm whether or not I visited certain
places, asked to review my personal Google search queries and clicks, or asked about my mobile app
activity. These tasks will appear in my rating queue just like any other rating task. If I prefer not to answer a
question on a particular Personalized Rating Task, I can decline to answer. All time spent on Personalized
Rating Tasks will be treated as work time just like any other rating task.
 Storage of Personalized Rating Tasks and Associated Responses and Data. Once I provide my
Personal Account, Google may access and use data from any part of my Personal Account (i.e., my
personal Google Account), including my Web History, Location History, Gmail contents, mobile app activity,
Google Plus, and YouTube activity, as part of this project. Even after I cease participating in these or any
other ratings, Google may continue to store and use my encrypted responses to these rating tasks, even if I
delete the corresponding data from my Google products or my Personal Account.
 Turning Off Location and History Reporting. Location tracking can be turned off at any time. No more
location data will be collected by Google after turning off location tracking.. The location history can be
deleted by following https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/3118687?hl=en. This will prevent
additional location-based EWOQ tasks from being created for me, however I will still be required to complete
any outstanding tasks in my queue.. I may still receive other type of personalized rating tasks from EWOQ
that are not location-based.
 Appen reserves the right to remove me from this ads quality rating program if my work is found to be of
substandard quality. Participation as an ads quality rater does not create a promise or guarantee to any
particular quantity of tasks that will be made available to me.

Finally, my participation as an ads quality rater is completely voluntary and I do not have a partnership or employer-
employee relationship with Google. My personal data may be transferred for these purposes to Google LLC. in the
U.S.
