Introduction
1st week - 1st day

Review of the previous lesson.

Motivation
Competencies - Identifies local materials used in creating
art
- Critiques available materials and appropriate
techniques

The teacher will be showing pictures of some locally


made forms of art.

The teacher communicates to the learners and


present to them the KWL Chart and let them fill the
K part guided with questions below:

What can you say about the picture?


What techniques did the artists use to create their
artworks?

The teacher will present the objectives of the lesson.

The learners will fill the W part of the KWL.

The class will be divided into four (4) groups.


Group 1 : Paintings
Group 2 : Costumes
Group 3: Sculpture
Group 4: Weaving

The group will be guided with the following questions:


1. What are the materials used in the
painting/costume?
2. Can you find these materials in your locality?
3. Identify the techniques applied to the said
painting/costume.

The learners will be given an assignment to bring any


work of arts (visual). The group will be divided based on
the form of art work they bring.

The following questions will serve as guide for the


students:

1. How do you find the activity?


2. Identify the materials used in creating the said
art work?
3. Describe how the materials being used in
creating the said art work?
4. Compare and contrast the different techniques
used in creating the said work of art?
5. Where these works of art came from?
6. What is the significance of this art work in your
life or community?

The teacher will discuss the different


techniques and performance practices of
contemporary arts and crafts in the locality
(refer to page 211 – 232 of the Philippine
Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions
by Panisan, et.al).
