Since the beginning of this century the European Association of Folklore Festivals – EAFF –
Official ICH partner of UNESCO has been working for preservation and popularization of the
traditional folklore arts in Europe. Much of its work is realized in the Musical Feasts "Euro Folk".
Special features of the activities of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF are
modern technologies for information and television. Most of the festival performances are
professionally filmed and the produced TV products are being broadcasted regularly on 20 local TV
channels, three satellite televisions covering Europe and the Internet Television "EuroFolkTV"
at tv.eurofolk.com.
II Asian Championship of Folklore "Asia Folk 2020" will be held from 10 to 15 June 2020.
The concerts will take place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Organizers of the Championship are ArtLar
Culture NGO, Bilguun Undarga NGO, World Association of Folklore Festivals - WAFF, European
Association of Folklore Festivals – EAFF and World Folklore Academy. The Championship will be
held with the support of National Commission of UNESCO of Mongolia and under logistic support of
Culture and Arts Authority, the Government Implementing Agency of Mongolia.
Championship title "Asian Champion of Folklore" in 9 categories will be awarded. The
evaluations from the Championship are valid for the World Ranking List of Folklore. The concert
programs will be broadcasted live on the Internet by EuroFolkTV - tv.eurofolk.com. The conditions
for participation and the awards are described in www.eaff.eu.
With the present letter we INVITE YOU to participate in this HIGH level event –
the Asian Championship of Folklore “Asia Folk 2020”.
The participation of your group will provide you the opportunity to win titles and awards,
which will contribute to the image of your country.
Your group has been selected between more than 8,000 collectives participated in the festivals
under the auspices of EAFF. Your work and your efforts in the field of preservation of folklore art are
highly appreciated and your participation will be honor for the organizers and spectators.
