Q. Write a note on Directing for any FMCG company of your choice.

I choose Gillette India Ltd. being a director we have to focus on the


development and implementation of a strategic plan to advance the
company's vision, mission, strategies and objectives and to promote revenue,
profitability and growth as an organization. In FMCG the main role is to provide
the product as soon as possible and also with the reasonable price as there are
many competitors of Gillette if we are not able to deliver our product to each
corner of the target area we will start losing customers we need to check
whether the distribution channel is doing their work efficiently or not whether
our customer like our product or not, and is there any additional needs and
wants of the customer. What are the innovations that can be done in the
existing product or a new product that can be brought into the market to get
an upper hand from the competitors in the market?

While doing planning or making strategies we need to focus on developing,


manufacturing and selling world-class products and services, act as the key
face of the company, develop new customers and channels to market and
manage existing customer and channel partner relationships, develop strategic
partnerships and ensure that overall revenue and profit goals are achieved and
shareholder value is delivered. While all aspects of the Company's business
require focus in appliances business growth and profitability is especially
important to the long term success.

Development, review and refinement of the Company's business strategy, and


execution of that strategy to obtain a leading position in the marketplace
Ensure revenue growth is achieved in a responsible and profitable manner;
Working with the management team to satisfy consumer needs, develop and
nurture new and existing customers, partnerships, strategic alliances, and
other market opportunities. Be the top manufacturers of the Company,
ensuring the company is well positioned in the public marketplace. And
building relationships and credibility with outside investors to provide
necessary resources to fund and grow the Company.
Provide high-level strategic and tactical leadership to the Board and the
management team. Motivate a high performance, innovative and results-
driven organization. Develop performance measurements and ensure these
metrics are achieved. Even good incentives can be given to the employees for
better performance in order to improve their performance. And good as well
as attractive offers can also be given to the customers to boost the sales.

There are various objectives and roles of a directors and also o how to direct a
company. There is N number of aspect that needs to be taken care of while
performing any action. Because a small bad decision can lead to company’s
failure as there is a very close fight between the competitors in the FMCG
industry. Therefore every company reacts to each and every company in that
particular range of product.
