What’s new in G3 System?
G3 System = THIRD GENERATION POLYMER
G3 =Third generation polymer Previous polymer generations
1. Membrane formation (same 1. No membrane
stabilization effect as bentonite cake)
2. Side wall hydrostatic pressure 2. No side wall hydrostatic pressure
transfer enhances stabilization transfer, poor stabilization capacity
3. Positive and negative charges to 3. Just negative charges, poor soil
achieve strong soil binding and binding and interaction
interaction
4. Free water available that may
4. No free water contribute to soil colapse

5. Stabilizes unstable non-cohesive soil 5. Impossible to stabilize unstable non-

cohesive soil
GEO G3 system incorporates the most recent advancements in polymer chemistry to
provide new and unique soil stabilization capabilities.

Super DSand Cleaning®
APPLICATION IN POLYMER SYSTEMS

Fast cleaning of piles or diaphragm walls

by sedimentation of the suspended
particles to the bottom of the
excavation, ensuring the stability

13
Charge Orientation in Soil

• The predominant Clay

Argila Sand
Areia
orientation of the charges
in the soil is negative.

• Charge density is higher

in clayey soils than in
sand.

Density
Distribuição da charges distribution
densidade de cargas

14
Charge Orientation in Soil

• Negative charges are in

majority at the flat surfaces of
a particle

• Positive charges in lower

concentration are more
common at the edges or
irregular surfaces

15
Interaction of PolyMud® to Soil

Due to the high

concentration of negative
charges within the soil
particles the binding of
the soil to the the
polymer matrix is
conveniently achieved
through the positive
charges.
Water molecules release is avoided. This
affinity allows for the soil to be filled with
several polymer filaments preventing its
fragmentation.
