Dear Sirs,
The German Chamber of Commerce was kind enough to pass on the name and address of
your company as a manufacturer of small motors for industrial uses. We would like to import
your products ot the American market and would also be interested to learn whether you are
represented in this part of America.
We are a medium-sized company with thirty employees, We have seven salesman in the
Chicago area and twelve more across the states of Illinois, Ohio and Indiana.
Please let us have your detailed offer as follows:
For 20 full containers CIF port of Chicago via Montreal Gateway, including price per unit
and present lad time.
As payment we would suggest 60 days after date of invoice, net.
Would you offer a discount for large quantities or for regular orders?
Please send us a company brochure and some catalogues showing the different kinds of
motors and the different applications that you can offer.

Dear Mr. Fitzpatrick,
Thank you for your letter dated 04/31/01 and the interest you showed in our products. We
would first of all like to tell you something about your company. Our company eas founded
in 1935, has at present 120 employees and we are hoping to expend next year to a further unit
in the Stuttgart area. We mainly sell our products here in Germany but are hoping to expand
our export activities.
At the moment we are not represented in the eastern united States, and we would be very
interested in arranging a meeting to discuss your proposal.
We have enclosed our current price list. Please note the following:
All our prices are to be understood FOB German port including packing. For CIF deliveries
we would have to change an extra 10 % on list price.
The prices are based on a minimum quantity of 50 units per order.
For regular orders we would offer a discount of 5 %.
Present lead time is ex works four weeks after the receipt of order.
For the first order we would prefer payment ,,Cash against Documents’’, for which we would
offer a discount of 3 %. For further orders we would consider an open payment termn.

Dear Claudia,
We regret to inform you that order 729/01 of September 2nd will not be ready for dispatch on
this coming Friday as originally confirmed. One of our machines has broken down, which in
turn affects the whole production line, and until this can be mended oru production is at a
complete standstill. As a result all our orders are affected, not just yours for this particular
item. We are hoping that the maintenance people will be able to start work this morning, and
all being well our machines will be running again by tomorrow afternoon.
Unfortunately I cannot let you have a more concrete answer as concerns dispatch until we
know how long the repair work will take. I will of course let you know as soon as we have
some firm answers. Half of the order is already complete and so we could at least send a part
of the order if necessary. Please advise hoe we should proceed.
We apologise again for this delay and for any inconvenience that this may cause, but hope
that we can settle this matter promptly.

RECLAMATIII PRIVIND LOCUINTA DE VACANTA
I wish to complain about the holiday from which I have just returned. At the time of
booking it was agreed that we would have use of the local leisure club. However, on our
arrival, we discovered that we were obliged to pay for all sports facilities. The standard of
accommodation that were forced to accept severely marred the enjoyment of our holiday.
Under the terms of your guarantee, I would like to request a full reimbursement of the amount
paid. I look forward to receiving, in the next 14 days, a reasonable offer of compensation.

Va scriu pentru a ma plange de proasta calitate a locuintei de vacant ape care am rezervat-o
prin intermediul dumneavoastra.
Cand am facut rezervarea, precizasem ca dorim o casa cu trei camera si cu doua bai,
bucatarie si living. Brosura prezenta o bucatarie dotata cu tot confortul modern, cu masina de
gatit, frigider cu congelator, cuptor cu microunde si masina de spalat vase. Cu toate acestea,
cand am sosit, am descoperit cu nemultumire ca cel de-al treilea pat era doar o canapea in
living. Pe deasupra, bucataria, care nu fusese curatata, nu era dotata nici cu microunde, nici cu
masina de spalat vase.
Ne-am plans imediat agentului dumneavoastra, care s-a multumit sa ne spuna ca fusese
probabil o greseala.
Starea locuintei pe care am fost nevoiti s-o acceptam ne-a impedicat sa ne bucuram din plin
de vacanta.
De accea, potrivit termenilor de garantie, va cer despagubire. Sper sa primesc in urmatoarele
14 zile o oferta compensatorie acceptabila.
