Project Description:

Find two examples of user interfaces, one that you consider a good design and one that you consider a bad design.
Note that the good design does not have to be uniformly good, since you may discover problems with it on closer
inspection. Likewise, the bad design does not have to be uniformly bad. Probably the most interesting examples will
be mixed.
Your interfaces might be desktop software, web applications, smartphone apps, consumer devices, car dashboards,
building entrances, traffic intersections, shower controls, etc.
For each interface, you should:
● Describe the purpose of the interface and its intended users
● Analyze its good and bad points of usability, discuss:
❍ Learnability
❍ Visibility
❍ Efficiency
❍ Errors
❍ You may discuss other aspects of usability if you have space and consider them important
● illustrate your analysis with appropriate screenshots or photographs
Limit your verdict to one page of text (roughly 50 lines) for each interface, for a total of two pages (100 lines) for
your entire report. You can include as many images as are helpful.

Grading:
Your report will be judged on the following criteria.
● Completeness. Don't omit a dimension of usability, and don't overlook an obvious usability issue that even
the reader notices.
● Depth. "Efficiency is good, because it feels fast to use" is not deep analysis. "I’ve never made any errors
with it" is not deep analysis.
● Clarity. The reader should not struggle to understand what you're talking about.
● Usability of presentation. Your report is itself a user interface whose purpose is to convey ideas to a
reader. If your report isn't learnable, visible, efficient, and error-preventive, then it will be harder for the
reader to use, and it will not demonstrate an ability to apply the ideas of this class.

1 Description and analysis of the user interfaces 1 (Good Design)

Interface: Woven Magazine
URL: https://wovenmagazine.com/

Purpose of the interface:

Woven Magazine is an on the web and print magazine that spotlights on the narratives and interests of inventive

upon the possibility that what we frequently need ourselves, we find in others, and by noticing the incredible
scholars’ history has given to us.

 Intended users who are directly linked to this interface are artists, designers and entrepreneurs who tell their
stories.
 Intended users who access and look through the interface are common people who are interested to read the
real-life stories and blogs of artists, designers and entrepreneurs.
Good points of usability:
 Learnability: With restricted product, the little internet based shop presents each of the four products in a
grid, guaranteeing they are effectively perceptible on the page.
 Visibility: A pale gray background delivers the symbolism of every product such that makes them difficult
to miss. The blog offers a straight killed the page, where posts are neatly coordinated. The spotless,
negligible color decisions and the emphasis on visual presentations makes an artisan driven site that contacts
the innovative within each one of us.

 Efficiency: This interface is quite efficient as by one-click we can get the thing we want. For an example, if
we want to open stories, we just have to click on option , it displays the list, we will just click on Stories
and the interface will provide all stories.
 Error: At most, it is error free as the language used is very simple, every thing is categorized properly,
navigation elements are clear and visible and limitation of options to correct choices.
2 Description and analysis of the user interfaces 2 (Bad Design)

Bad points of usability:
 Learnability: There is no proper categorization on the interface by which user can easily use it. There is no
clear organization of information so the user has to move to top and bottom to find something. There is no
website maintenance.
 Visibility: The outrageous utilization of colour makes the website look just a youngster attempting to gain
proficiency with his most memorable paint. Nevertheless, this site has no blank area. It simply has each
segment partitioned into colors like a rainbow. What's more, the text is only there with no substance. There
is no white space used that can give pleasing visuals to users’ eyes.

 Efficiency: There is no navigation bar so that the user can select any option efficiently. We have to move to
the bottom of the page to jump to another option, activity, or page. It loads painfully slow. The order form is

taking.

 Error: Nothing is categorised properly and due to its color scheme, it will give many errors and users can
