Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT- HCMC) is the key multi-disciplinary university for educating transport
sectors in Vietnam. At present there are more than 20,000 students, in 24 differert majors in the fields of maritime, road,
railway, urban traffic system, transportation, logistics management, etc. at undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
The university has 12 faculties and departments, 16 administrative departments, 8 centers and companies, which
meets the demands of education, training and other sci~ntific and technical services.

Through more than 23 years of construction and development, UT-HCMC has honorably been awarded with the first-
class labor medal, the third-class labor medal and emulative flag by the government. In addition, we have also rece ived
certificates of merit by the Ministry ofTransport, the Ministry of Education and Training, The Vietnam Labor Union, and
The Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union. Moreover, UT-HCMC's Party Committee has been recognized as an admirable and
powerful group for five consecutive years.

Our university's mission is to provide sufficient human resources for a multi-modal transportation network which links
the city's transport with regional, national and international areas in a synchronous, smooth, safe and effective way. We
also aim to effectively train human resource staff for maritime economic development. UT-HCMC continually dedicates
itself to reaching a new vision in th~ integration of international education. We strive to maintain our excellent reputa-
tion for improving the higher education system in Vietnam, with the aim to become a prestigious institution not only in
Asia but also all over the world. UT-HCMC welcomes universities, organizations, individuals, scientists and students

Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT-HCMC), under the authority of


Ministry of Transport, was founded under the decision No 66/2001/QD-TTg by
the Government. Based on the capacity of the Branch of Vietnam Maritime
University (VIMARU) after 10 years of establishment and development on 26th
of Apri/2001. This was a milestone in the development process of the Univer-
sity.
