The drug users are slowly vanishing, where is the justice

for them?

There are already 15 presidents that elapsed in the Philippine Government. Many of them tried to
suppress the chronic issue on illegal drugs in the Philippines. But as their term slowly finished,
the issues are still there, and it’s getting worse because the Filipinos teens are getting involved in
using illegal drugs. Until the government discovered that this illegal drug problem is indeed a big
problem anywhere in the country. But when the 2016 national election came, those politicians
with sharp tongues made a promise again. But this time, the promise has progressed already that
“in 3 to 6 month wala na ang droga sa pilipinas” and he said that he will resign if that promise is
not carried out. What a very unbelievable promise, even teens like me are convinced to believe
what he said. Even a child with an age of 6 will believe him, that’s how his charisma works.

When he won as the 16nth president of the Philippines, he really did his best to fulfill his
unbelievable promise. In just 6 months 2,041 were killed and many were arrested. And sad to
say, those people are drugs user only. But where are those big time drugs sellers? His
administration was being unfair, then he also said that “magtago na kayo, dahil papatayin ko
kayong lahat na nadodroga” Is that how a supreme leader of nation really speak? And even
teenagers were killed by policeman with no justice serve. He was my Idol during his campaign
when I saw his accomplishment in davao, I have said to myself, that this time the Filipino people
have made the right choice. When his campaign against drugs starts, He amazed the public by
showing a matrix composed of many big time drug syndicates. I feel happy that it might be the
end of those who ruined many lives because of illegal drugs. But sad to say that it was the end of
many drugs users and many Filipino youths. And many families were abandoned because of
those killings.

Every time they killed a drug user, it always appeared that the suspect fought, that’s why they
said that they are only defending themselves from the suspect. It’s hard for me to think that, in
every operation they conducted, did every suspect attempt to fight? They don’t even give a
second chance to the suspect to change, that’s how the EXTRA JUDICIAL KILLING works. For
me, being a leader of a nation is also being a father to its people. And a rule of a father is to
protect, discipline, forgive his children and even secure their safety. As a Filipino youth, I am
very disappointed with what is happening in my country today. Because for me, what happened
today will be suffered by many Filipino youth in the future.

I cannot ask for more, but only for the peace of my country. Maybe this administration has done
their best, but this is not the perfect way to discipline a democratic and a religious country. And
maybe the church reacted, because they can take it also anymore. I always dreamed that this
country would someday have a leader that has the wisdom of Rizal, the honesty of Magsaysay,
the charisma of Marcos, and the mercy of Jesus Christ. It might be very impossible to happen,
but in GOD’s will nothing is impossible because I pray for it not just for me, but also for the
entire country. As the saying of the aglipayan church Pro deus et patria for God and country! I
also pray that justice for those victims will be served someday.
