Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Toronto
As a student, I had a good aptitude for science topics and a persistent desire to explore and try new things. My initial foray into electronics began with experiments I conducted in high school on measurements and circuitry. My curiosity compelled me to look at it more. So, this life interest pushed me to pursue a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronic engineering from a prestigious university. I received awards as a result of my work and effort and earnest efforts in achieving a Dalhousie In-course Scholarship in 2022. In the previous four years, electrical engineering opened up a whole new universe to me. The required computer languages, signal processing, and power systems courses equipped me with knowledge in these areas. Throughout my undergraduate education, I was introduced to a variety of core subjects including Engineering Chemistry, Mechanics 1: Statistics, Engineering Math, Introduction to Physics, and Technical Communication. During these times, I discovered a strong interest in programming. I appreciate how my thinking can be represented through coding. The information gained from the Data Structures and Algorithms and Microprocessor courses assisted me in mastering the pragmatic programming algorithm, understanding the operations of the operating system, and understanding the hardware-related language of the microprocessor. All the aforementioned piqued my interest and fuelled my desire to learn more about these topics. Solid programming and mathematical experience gained from my undergraduate studies further enhanced my understanding of my master’s degree. Through college coursework, I developed a solid professional skill set. A financial modelling assignment also enabled me to improve my practical abilities in a company context. This semester, I was involved in a robotic design project, the primary objective of which is to create a robotic mine sweeper, which detects and disposes of mines in a certain region. The robot must have a route planning guidance system based on C++, avoid physical touch, and identify mines using an ultrasonic and metal detector. I finished the assignment effectively, and I felt a sense of achievement similar to solving puzzles. The project also assisted me in developing actual programming skills in ROS, C++, and Python. This experience, I believe, tested my abilities in this field, and I believe I can flourish in my master's studies. I feel that developing soft skills is just as vital as academics. My hobbies are playing sports like Basketball, Volleyball. Basketball is my all-time favourite hobby! Piano and guitar are two of my preferred instruments. I've gained great communication abilities via my professional experience and education, and I'm able to clearly explain ideas to a variety of audiences. Choosing the proper university to obtain a master’s degree was not an easy decision. I intended to apply for the Masters of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering at your excellent University of Toronto after many hours of rigorous study. Master's degree holders in electrical and computer engineering may be able to direct development, testing, and production processes. In the future, they may be able to operate with generators, motors, communications networks, navigation systems, and a variety of other electrical devices. The University of Toronto places a high value on graduate financial assistance. The provincial and federal governments give financial assistance to qualifying Canadian citizens and permanent residents. I am optimistic that my aptitude, along with my will to achieve, will carry me through the hurdles and live up to the University's expectations. Upon graduation from this master’s program, I want to work as a computer engineer at an established IoT firm, delivering hardware and software implementations. Furthermore, I hope to include sophisticated artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches in my future work. As a computer engineer, it allows me to investigate and develop cutting-edge approaches with applications in a variety of fields, therefore contributing to the creation of algorithms and possible breakthroughs. Your university's recognized professors and research facilities show tremendous potential, and I look forward to benefiting both intellectually and practically in the sectors of my interest. I am certain that the University of Toronto is the ideal setting for an academic trip into the depths of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I would be delighted to get admitted to your university.
