Statement of purpose

I hail from a country rich in cultural and traditional heritage. I have always had an inherent curiosity and
urge to know about modern technology and its day-to-day developments and its applicability. The urge in
me was recognized and encouraged by my teachers and mentors. They have shown the path to achieve my
goal.

During my course of my education, I developed a high curiosity towards computers, programming

languages, and digitalization. This inspired me to further explore the latest developments like Artificial
Intelligence. During the first two years of my undergraduate studies in Computer Science, I studied courses
like Theory of computation, Data Structures, Microprocessor and Microcontroller, Computer organisation
and architecture. These courses helped me gain a strong background in the fundamentals of Computer
Science. Being associated with Data Mining and Machine Learning in my undergraduate studies has driven
me further to pursue AI at a higher level. A significant part of my motivation to study Artificial Intelligence
is curiosity -- the curiosity to develop something distinctive which can offer a lot of benefits and relevance
to human efforts.

Along with my undergraduate studies, I got the opportunity to do my internship in an organization which is
dealing with different fields of information technology. This gave me an exposure to knowledge about how
AI has changed the perspective of life. I did a mini-project developing an application where it converts
speech to text, which gave me hands-on experience on how the industry and projects work. This has also
helped me get acquainted with the corporate realm.

As I come from a computer science background, I have learned a few useful programming languages which
can lay a good foundation when I enter the corporate world. C language, Java, and Python are my main areas
of interest. Out of these, I felt that Python was astounding as it is versatile and plays an important role in
Artificial Intelligence. Realizing the importance of data visualization and the abundant scope of research in
this area, I did a project titled 'Road accidents in India'. Where I displayed the causes of road accidents using
various visualization techniques such as graphical representations etc.

When I went deep into this area of technology, the concepts, and the inventions left me spellbound. Even
their self-driven cars make strategic sense to me. I am very much interested in the idea of self-driven cars.
AI has always been that one subject that makes everyone feel boundless. My association with AI has
expanded by taking up some mini-assignments related to datasets and some online courses and eagerly
committed to them. I am most interested in the capabilities of AI to appear to or even be genuinely human-
like, so I would be very excited to use my degree to start a career designing AI for self-driven cars or
working on the development of interactive humanoid robots. However, since I would be willing to work in
all possible fields, in this process of pursuing further courses of varied topics, I keep my options open.

From being a captain for the Football team and House Captain during my school days, to being a team
leader during my internship, I have come a far way in developing my leadership skills. Patience,
determination and Hard work being some of the added skills to the leadership skill have helped me grow
into a mature and an organized person. Having an experience of staying away from home for my bachelors
and excelling at all kinds of responsibilities, I am of the view that the experience could help me handle the
various responsibilities at the university
I now intend to pursue an MSc in Computer Science, which will benefit me to combine my passion for
Computer Science. I am confident that this program at the Lake Head University will help me accomplish
my long-term goal of working in the research and development sector.

My education so far has given me a good foundation in the field of Computer Science. With my exploration,
I have found that your university is excellent in terms of its pioneering research and state-of-the-art
infrastructure. Research areas of machine learning, data science, natural language generation, align with my
interests and skillset I have developed in my academics. Although my strengths are concentrated in these
areas, my curiosity is by no means limited to these topics. I believe that I have a solid foundation, but
through a program of graduate study and research, I hope to develop expertise in these or related areas. The
curriculum in MSc Computer Science with a wide variety of AI-related techniques that your university
provide will allow me to expand my skill in these areas while pursuing my ambitions in this subject.

Upon graduation, I would like to get associated with a reputed organization involved in Artificial
Intelligence. The Master's program from your esteemed university would give me a substantial advantage in
achieving this goal. Besides academics, the opportunity to interact with a global group of students is
something to look forward to, a Master's degree from your university will not only allow me to gain
knowledge, but also give me an opportunity to forge friendships and build networks that will prove useful,
both professionally and personally.

Canada is a learning seat with highly reputed universities that have produced many world-class scholars in
all fields. It has always been on top of my mind to pursue my Master's from Canada. The Lake Head
University was the nest for many great personalities in all fields. To achieve my career goals, I found the
MSc program in Computer Science at the Lake Head University with its course curriculum suitable to my
desire to enhance and hone my skills in implementing AI techniques in many fields.

Though the Artificial Intelligence course is very challenging, my desire to master it is very strong. Under the
tutelage of highly learned mentors and teachers, I'm sure to reach the peaks utilizing all the possible
academic facilities of the university. I sincerely hope you consider me deserving of this opportunity.
