Statement of Purpose

Innovation is a vehicle driven by the boon of current era, thanks to this cutting edge technology
that we have all become network neighbors globally, more commonly known as information
technology. Constant and consistent advancement in innovation has witnessed a plethora of
success stories in business and there is not an iota of doubt that such success stories are only
nurtured by mastering certain skill sets. Strategic thinking, a futuristic vision equipped with
problem-solving techniques and keeping oneself up-to date with the latest technological
developments are some of the vital areas of focus for such business development.

My bachelor’s degree in Commerce coupled with more than 13 years of corporate experience in
Contingent Staffing for the Information Technology Vertical has provided me with the necessary
technical skills, along with essential business knowledge to analyze, formulate and find the right
set of candidates to be hired in to mission critical job functions of top notch IT companies across
United States, India, Europe and Middle East. Furthermore, hands on experience gained by
working on the various HCM and HR Modules in SAP & oracle ERP have equipped me with
skills necessary to analyze and interpret data. My expectations now from this course are developing
a mindset wherein my craving for knowledge and learning be seldom satiated and to be provided
with opportunities which will enable me to hone these skills as I put them into practice.
After having studied the Indian curriculum during my undergraduate program, I then intended to
experience a different education system to challenge myself and widen my scope, however I was
recruited as a campus hire in to the erstwhile Satyam Computers, a well-known billion dollar,
multinational IT services company. Since then I have worked across several top IT companies
across India , United States & Europe , NTT Data, Alten Calsoft, & Birlasoft to name a few. In a
stellar career spanning more than 13 years I have handled multiple IT Projects, right from finding
the right resources and also execution of the said project. People function and Human Capital
Management has been my forte all through.
I am currently working, in a senior managerial position at Birla Soft Technologies, a well-known
global IT services company. I have a reached a stage in a career, where I have gained tremendous
knowledge in IT contingent staffing, HR, Functions & HCM. If at all there is a dearth or if I can
call a slight void that has always kept me nagging, Is a Master’s Degree in Human Resource
Management. I strongly feel a good MBA Degree from a renowned University, would help me
gain the much required impetus to spear head my career, into CXO level position.

which is what led me to apply for a postgraduate degree in Canada. In addition to the Canada
housing prestigious institutions known across the globe for their accomplishments, the curriculum
is known to be more specialized and focused towards the selected program of study which I believe
makes it the unparalleled option for postgraduate studies.
Looking back at the decisions I have made; I realize that I have always gravitated towards the path
that less travelled by and it goes without saying that that has truly made all the difference. From
my standpoint, true learning is that which takes an individual outside of their comfort zone, and
regardless of how enduring it may be, that it what I always strive for. This philosophy of mine is
a primary motivating factor that inspires me to pursue my lifelong goal of establishing a business
that is related to the upcoming technologies and Human Resource Management in the same, and
replicating the same exponential growth that companies have achieved during the boom of the
internet era through the aid of emerging technologies in the current era.
Innovation to me is unlike the popular belief of developing a physical product. To me, it is
remodeling an existing system and enhancing its productivity through the aid of new technologies.
After studying extensively about a major emerging technology, namely blockchain shared ledger
technology and realizing the impact it is foreseen to have on the banking, logistics and food
industries, I want to equip myself with the necessary skills in order to design such creative
solutions and be not just a part of the revolution, but amongst its leaders.
In my past, the engineering projects that I have undertaken were real-life organizational situations.
These projects included enhancing the production efficiency of a perfume manufacturing company
through optimizing their production planning and conducting an automation feasibility study;
another, formulating optimization models for food delivery system at a local restaurant; and
conducting quality analysis in regard to customer service at a pharmacy. This practice has kept me
on track with real-world situations and allowed me to apply academic knowledge and skills to
practical scenarios by providing real time solutions to existing problems. I believe this will put me
at an advantage as the program also requires applying knowledge gained to practical scenarios.
I currently work as a process improvement intern at a glass processing factory, whereby my role
requires me to redesign the process flow of the systems in a way that better captures production
related data. I am thus required to ensure project completion within a set time frame which not
only keeps me on my toes but also ensures fast, effective thinking and action on my part. Alongside
this, in order to gain an insight to what it means to own and run business operations, I also spend
the remainder of my days involving myself in an international trading business company owned
by my father which has provided me with an outlook of what it means to be at the decision making
forefront; with multiple responsibilities and complications stretching beyond just the technical
aspect of things to tackle on a daily basis.
I anticipate that the program your prestigious institution offers would excellently complement my
previous qualifications along with my future ambitions. Moreover, it would aid me in gaining the
required, appropriate exposure in understanding future business trends through case study based
learning, and would allow me to better equip myself with the skill set required to be a leading
professional in the field.
