If the presence of skilled maintenance personnel is required, as for instance when it is necessary
to close the magneto-thermal switches in the control panels, contact the technicians immediately
without attempting to reach potentially dangerous points.
The following guide has been designed to assist the operator during the normal operation of the
machine.
Before cleaning a component, always consult the documentation containing the safety rules related
to the use of detergents.
For safety reasons, the clothing required for cleaning operations shall include a face shield or
goggles, rubber gloves and an apron.
Do not use detergents for belts cleaning.
Always keep plenty of water at your disposal in case of spilling or of a violent reaction of the
substance.
We recommend always following the directions given in the specific safety technical sheet of each
chemical product.
Internal parts are cleaned with machine stopped, without causing risks for the health and safety of
staff in charge of cleaning tasks.
If necessary, disconnect the machine from its electrical and pneumatic sources.
N.B.: These instructions apply to a continuous operation over 24 hours. If the machine is used for
shorter intervals of time, it is necessary to proportionally extend the intervals between scheduled
maintenance operations.
In any case, to keep the machine perfectly efficient, it is necessary to follow some simple general
rules:
Always keep the machine clean and in order. Paper dust or fragments represent a risk of fire.
Avoid performing tasks around the machine that entail the production of shavings. If such tasks
must be performed, accurately check that no metal fragment is left on the machine’s organs.
To remove dried paper and glue accumulations, we recommend the use of hot water.
By making use of good vacuum cleaners the machine can be cleaned completely and
carefully.
WEEKLY CLEANING
Clean all areas inside the guarding.
MONTHLY CLEANING
No check or cleaning intervention is scheduled.
SIX-MONTHLY CLEANING
Clean the interior of the control panels and the general electrical panels. Use a good vacuum
cleaner to remove any paper that has penetrated inside.
N.B.: if the working environment is very dusty, we recommend reducing the interval to just 2
months.
All machine interventions must be performed in such a way that the operator can act in conditions
of absolute safety.
It is good practice to actuate the nearest emergency button before performing any maintenance
intervention.
If necessary, disconnect the machine from its electrical and pneumatic energy sources.
WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
Where present: check the compressed air filters; if necessary, eliminate any condensation or
check for proper functioning of the automatic discharge on the filter.
Check the level of lubricant and reset, if necessary, by following the indications on the label.
Where manual greasing is present, grease all parts that have a greasing inlet.
It is recommended to check the various organs and chains tensioning.
MONTHLY MAINTENANCE
Where present: check the efficiency of the log discharge system (cams, guides, pistons) on the
log saw.
SIX-MONTHLY MAINTENANCE
Check that the pneumatic system is efficient, solenoid valves included, and check the system
for leaks.
Check the efficiency of the Emergency stop.
Check that all sensors are well fixed on the supports and that these are well fixed on the
machine.
Check the efficiency of the wheels and pins mounted on the log transport buckets.
ANNUAL MAINTENANCE
Check for wear on the chain drive sprockets, if necessary, program their replacement.
Check the integrity of the buckets.
Check the integrity of the chains.
