JCI Mississippi held a fantastic convention at William
MID-YEAR AWARDS

Carey University on Saturday, August 27th. We started

the day with Budget 101 training from National Vice REVIEW
President Dawn Stangle. NVP Dawn traveled from UPCOMING EVENTS
Illinois to spend the weekend with us at our convention
and speak to public officials and media on behalf of
Mississippi Jaycees.

Our keynote speaker was Dr. Gary Bachman from

Mississippi State University's Southern Gardening. The
topic of his presentation was modern-day victory
gardens, and he shared his "urban nano farm" with us.
Our active chapters all agreed they want to start free
little gardens in their neighborhoods and communities.
Service to humanity is the best work of life!

NVP Dawn and JCI Minnesota State President Stephanie

Corder lead team-building exercises. We learned that
some of us are more competitive than others, but
JCI Mississippi State Presidents
everyone works together well. Overall, we make a great #74 Megan Bradberry, #76 Dee Lumpkin,
team! It's always nice when members can collaborate and #75 Bethanie Miller
across chapters, and we cherish our time together.
