Present in wakefulness, drowsiness, stage II sleep
Trigger: Hyperventilation
Usually in people >50 years
Uncommon (incidence <0.05%)

Not associated with epilepsy

SREDA: bilateral synchronous parietotemporal sharp theta rhythm (double banana)
