STRATEGIES TO IMPLEMENT
POSITIVE LIFESTYLE ATTITUDES
IN DAILY LIFE
Starting off new journeys and making habits so customary they become apart of our daily
lives is usually never easy. However, it can be made easier if we approach implementing
positive lifestyle practice from a strategic point of view. To implement lifestyle practices
that are positive into our daily lives strategies such as staying committed to the process,
celebrating your little victories each step of the way and genuinely love and enjoy the
process. While these are not the only strategies that can be used to implement positive life
practices, it is important to start with the individual and establish a deep connection with the
Firstly, it is important to stay committed to the process. It is often that we start off a new
process quite excited, having long list of things to accomplish. At some point we become
obsessed with the outcome rather than the journey to the outcome. It is quite frustrating to be
putting in the work and dedication and to seemingly yield small. In the case of loosing and
maintaining a certain weight, it takes time firstly to lose the weight and commitment to the
process to maintain the desired weight. Staying committed means keep trying even when it
feels like the outcome is not yet happening, being discipline enough to commit to a schedule
and follow it and having someone that can hold you accountable for staying connected to the
process.
Secondly it is very important to have a positive attitude towards the process each step of the
way. This can be in the form of celebrating small victories. Even recording these victories is a
powerful way and tool of motivation towards the desired goal. For example, using the
example of weight gain, if weight is taken and recorded before and after fixed time periods
the individual is fully involved in the change that is taking place. This is very motivating
because humans often interpret success as positive changes in accordance to the goal. Hence
a person who weighs 230lbs would be motivated to continue the process of implementing
exercise as apart of their daily lifestyle if their weight is now 200lbs. Therefore, as can be
seen, the strategy of celebrating small victories to the goal often encourages one to continue
Lastly it is important that the journey is enjoyed. Genuinely enjoying the process is important
in allowing one to continue in a process so that it becomes a habit in everyday life. When
someone is doing something, they do not enjoy it is most often a burden and can result in a
burnout. Taking pictures, inviting others along the journey, doing it at your favorite time of
the day when possible are all ways to ensure you enjoy the new journey to a better lifestyle.
To sum it all up, there are many strategies to implementing better lifestyle practices into
one’s daily life. However, it is important to start with the individual so that a strn=ng bond is
developed through love for the process, positive attitudes towards the process, staying
committed to the process and enjoying the process ad results each step of the way. When an
